The ONE and ONLY ONE thing good about Bangalore is the weather. Eveything else sucks. By the way are you doing some poll for your assignment or what ?

having plenty of IT companies is not the only criterion for being a capital is it?
History though is certainly one..

First of all ... Does Bangalore have the infrastructure ?????
Mr. Narayana Murthy ( the IT Czar and Bengalooru bidda ) himself doessnt think so ..
what Building will accomodate the President ?
what building will house the Parliaments ? Rajya and Lok Sabha '''
What buildings will house PM and MPs ?
Will Bangalore have a replacement building for Supreme Court ?
Will Bangalore have enough Space for all the Consulates and Embassies ?
Will Bangalore breathe after all the Govt institutions and Offices move in ??

I DO NOT THINK SO .....
BANGALORE , CAPITAL OF INDIA ..... hmmmm doesnt sound good

I think what he meant when he started the topic was that Bangalore would have been a better location for the capital due to its climate. Also, it wouldn't hurt being further away from the so called enemies that border us.

If that had been decided in 1947, or before, all the infrastructure that Delhi currently has would now have been in place in Bangalore.

To consider a switch now, even hypothetically speaking, is an almost impossible task.

I am not sure, if bangalore had any infrastructure in 1947.. to start with.
Delhi was all made up by brits.
As of today, there is no comparison!... though delhi has 2 weak points...
1) extreme weather
2) lack of IT companies when compared to bangalore

weather is not a serious problem... at least you get to test your car A/cs and heaters.

IT companies!... well IT is at its boon... but if you ignore that ... IT or BPO is not the only sector!!!!

was in delhi for roughly 36 hours last week, was as good as my first visit to delhi (the first being only of about 10 hours) and i somehow feel its more or less perfect t be the capital of the country. barely ay traffic, extremely wide roads, quite a few historic monuments and a mix of all races.

manson.

p.s. wonder everyone around delhi has so much attidtude al over their faces.

Well, somehow Delhites feel the same when they visit Mumbai!... I think its just something wrong with face reading!

Also wide roads in Delhi .. YES

Not any traffic ... I think you were at the wrong place! the runway probably!

On a serious note, Delhi has a LOT of traffic... these wide roads are most of the time not adequate... but they are building more and more of them!

.
One thing in common to both the cities is that Britishers have planned and built both the cities .... Then the Britishers felt Delhi is ideal capital for their rule ..
