Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

As with many of the Paytm fastag holders, I was waiting hoping for an en-masse transfer to another vendor, which did not happen!!

Applied for closure of Paytm fastag and refund happened in 7 days without any follow-up required. I have applied for Amazonpay ICICI fastag and it got delivered today in 4 days.

My car when delivered by dealer had ICICI fastag, I had closed it and took PayTM fastag as I was happy with their service for my previous car. But to ICICI now !

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

Now that there was no option other than ordering another tag, I have gone ahead and order 2 new HDFC fastags from Paytm itself. For the third car I already have a IDBI tag, that I will now use as I had not used the one as I had ordered a Paytm tag for the convenience.

Can someone suggest of how shall one go about removing the old tag cleanly?

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

Initiated closure of Paytm fastag on 14 Mar. Registered for HDFC fast tag same day. Yet to be delivered.
One interesting observation though. After closure initiated of paytm tag, I crossed toll and reader showed low balance but still opened up and I was allowed to pass
I didn't get the deduction sms or in fastag transaction.
Next day same booth was stopping vehicles with low balance msg and taking cash, not double, to allow passing

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

For those who have not bought their paytm fastag replacement do check this.

https://www.amazon.in/hfc/fastag?ref...FastagPurchase

Amazon pay icici fastag (different from ICICI Fastag). This is linked to your amazon pay balance and you can setup auto top up for amazon pay similar to paytm wallet.

Added bonus if you're a credit card enthu like me as you can get accelerated rewards buying Apay vouchers from your credit card rewards portal, Double dip with 1% cashback if you're an amazon prime customer.

IMO this is the best rewarding fastag out there currently.

P.S Just ordered this yesterday.

Fastag can be recharged via Amazon Pay wallet balance. Pay wallet can be recharged only via upi or debit card. It does not take Amazon Pay GV balance which can be bought via credit cards. Amazon Pay wallet balance and Amazon Pay GV balance are two separate things.

You will most probably get some glue residue while removing tag which can be removed with turpentine oil or rubbing alcohol. Blade can also be used to scrape off the residue but due care should be taken as it can lead to scratches.

Re: PayTM FASTag: Are you keeping it or ditching it?

I am not sure which FASTag player to choose? Are there any inherent benefits of choosing a particular FASTag? (Did try Park+ to search for FASTag, got confused)

Nope, this fastag is directly linked to amazon pay balance so if you buy a apay gift card and load apay balance it should be available for use with fast tag, tried loading now and it shows available for fastag. Will get to test this saturday as i will be travelling.

It is not linked to AmazonPay Wallet for toll payments. It is just another ICICI FasTag distributed via Amazon, everything else is managed by ICICI.
Recharge can be any mode just like any other bank FasTag. There is no mention of AmazonPay in the tag either. This was when I ordered on Feb 15, 2024.

Yes, there is 1% cashback for Prime Members currently.

Sure. Please do update here if it allows Amazon Pay balance use. You will mostly get a message as "Your amazon pay balance can't be used to pay for this order" at the last step. But if things are different with you then do let us know

Those looking for an alternative which can help to maintain a single pool account and multiple FASTags can go through this.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/stree...ml#post5738992 (Who is your preferred FASTag provider?)

I don't think Amazon Pay balance can be directly used for Fastag debits because Amazon's name is not on the approved bank list released by the government. The payment has to be made with ICICI, not Amazon Pay. However, if it is working, then that's great. Please update us after your drive. My friend has yet to purchase and is not considering airtel despite having a wallet-based system, Last time I checked, it was not working, and Amazon changed its FAQ itself. May be now they made some changes.

Hello! I am thinking of getting the HDFC fastag from paytm. But i am not sure how the recharge system works. As it says no bank account required but no other details were mentioned.

Also, someone on the forum recommended the IDBI first forward app for fastag. They mentioned it’s a complete different app like a wallet that works akin to paytm.

Since, you have both can you recommend which one shall be better one to go with? Please do share how the experience is with both

IDFC actually, I am using it. Recharge through first forward app is easy and recently tried recharging through Paytm, that also way easier.

I have used Axis, Park+ (quikwallet) and Idfc after the Paytm fiasco. In the above I find Idfc has the better app (way better) and also messages also recharge & toll sms comes immediately. The only issue with Idfc is that they dump some "max" program in our head for the first year and swindle off 300 odd rupees (254.24 for Max subscription, 45.76 GST ), we can opt out but the subscription will stay for a year and that amount will not be refunded.

Park+ is totally useless according to me, shall be avoided at all cost. 5 years back ordered ICICI fastag it never reached home. HDFC - I always hated their UI's, not so user friendly !
