Are we sure that the California is his and not just something that is being used to promote the film before he actually gets his car? I remember Amitabh Bachan doing something similar before getting his Phantom.

No its very much his. Its been in the news for a long time and he also gave an interview to some news channel about buying it since it was a childhood dream. I just wonder , if it had to be a Ferrari and he has the green to splurge on it , why didn't he just buy the 458 ??? Why the California ? Is the price difference between the two substantial ?

The difference is about 35-40 Lakhs between California & 458, which I don't think is that substantial for someone like Imran Khan. But I guess its a matter of personal choice, to each his own.

This is not true at all Platza. During a recent movie shoot abroad he had a sceene with a 250/275 gt and just fell in love with the car. This is when he decided he wanted a Ferrari. On his visit to the Showroom abroad the California due to its Convertible top and being a V8 suited his fancy of being as close to a 250/275 as possible.

The california is a great car with good ground clearance and the added bonus of being a hardtop convertible. In India this is the most practical choice in my opinioun as it has the power to give you thrills and carries the oomph factor too. The primary reason is its a FERRARI . The price difference is almost 50 lakhs and thats too much for anyone not looking at hardcore performance.

God knows. He was on one of those news channels with Kareena Kapoor the other day and when asked about the new acquisition he went on to say that , ' wanted one all my life and took the plunge when i knew i could afford it'.

What i have mentioned is straight from the horses mouth, in an interview that is going to be seen by millions he cant state he was clueless for most of his life . Its like the classic line, I am reading alot of scripts but none have stirred me yet.
