Another interesting addition to 369 Garage!

Dulquer has bought back this J80 Land Cruiser about a month ago.

Attaching some pics of the beauty :

Slight correction, Dulquer hasn't 'bought' back this LC but in fact, it was gifted to him the night of his birthday by a very special bunch of his friends and team.

It took them a good few months of planning and arrangement to purchase the vehicle, then having it sent places to get some work done just in time for the surprise.

Looks like dude's been collecting not just the gems in cars, but friends too.

A pic of DQ's Supra with a white Supra from Mumbai :D

P.S. Any idea if this pic was taken before Dulquer bought his Supra, because from what I can see in this low-res pic (sorry about that) the wheels look like the same stock ones they used to be, when the car belonged to the previous owner (the auto-magazine editor).

If DQ was to star in a period drama based on the 80-90s, what a stunning array of cars that could be cast alongside the actors. The villain especially would make and impactful entry in a german saloon with an entourage of Jap SUVs in the front and back!

:OT

Strangely this is one of my pet peeves when watching shows like Narcos, Ashes to Ashes etc... Being an car lover born in the 80s, it's exciting every time a car one can relate to makes it's appearance onscreen.

Watching the recent TV series '1992 Scam', I was really annoyed with the choice of cars, especially ones parked on the street. They even got Harshad Mehta's Lexus wrong. The fact that the character was riding in the face-lifted second gen LS instead of the correct first gen XF10, kept bugging me throughout the show.

If the teaser for the movie 'Kurup' is anything to go by...waiting excitedly for it, though not sure if that scene was set in India or a GCC nation of the 80s.

In fact, his first movie, 'Second Show' hooked me up with the awesomely period correct vehicles used (except maybe for an Innova and Tavera set in the early 2000s)

You tell me.

Add to that in the awesome intro scene, they showed the correct first gen LS400 digitally rendered.
Even if it was the pre facelift second gen most wouldn't have noticed.

Guess the facelifted 2nd gen was more commonly available (via rebadged Celsiors), so they could source one easily.(atleast what OLX seems to suggest)

Another one is the Contessa shown. Almost all 80s period movie/series shows a Contessa. Easiest to source, they even show it with period correct white on black plates.
But then, quad headlamps and plastic bumpers in an 80s Contessa?? :Frustrati

I saw it too. Off to Chennai after a short visit. Must say, the flatbed looked nice.

Happened to see this Q7 which left the garage about a decade ago. It seems like the current owner is facing some major suspension issues.

The Y61 Patrol's new look (for now ;))

I swear! One of my favorite acquisitions of him this year :D

Seems like Shri Mammootty acquired a Caravan based on the Bharath Benz Chassis. Hope this can be posted in this thread :)

Features are aplenty as per Manorama News:

1) Full fledged Kitchen
2) Semi Bullet Proof glasses
3) Alexa Enabled
4) Sound proof
5) Yamaha Home Theater

Built by Ojes and report says its the first caravan built using the AIS 124 Code. Maybe they could have designed the bus using the regular Mercedes Bus Front Panels.

It's actually Jungle Green, a shade from newer Mini palette, Countryman to be specific. BRG is flat/non-metallic.

Out of curiosity, did DQ ever own a Jonka/Patrol? Also what is the current form of the Datsun?
