Awesome catch.

Its looks as British as it can get, read this caption somewhere, "if it were any more British, it'd be the Queen herself"

If were upto me, I would have retained the black bezel around the headlights for some visual relief.

And like few other mentioned, that Reg plate though looks the part a bit too much, doesnt look like an Indian Reg number, should be replaced.

I think the Reg plates are a brilliant touch.

May be a sign of things to come?

Me hope too. That's the only thing my eyes locked on in the teaser.

Though heard that the shoots were taken in UAE/Saudi(?), though if he is hooked onto, there are quite a few 80s Caprice classic in India I believe.

All of older LCs are still very much in the collection, just the 200s left.

+1!

Some minor tweaks happened already and now it wears new amber clear LED signal lights all around. Subtle but substantial.

Wow , that's so tasteful , looks pretty neat .

There's one more Defender which caught attention recently in Kerala, it's being restored by off-road kitter , champion Mr.Sam Kurian & his R&T Catalyst team .

The 'Carguy's Carguy' has proven again how much of a petrol head he is! He has such a lovely taste in cars. It's been a real pleasure to see him add more and more timeless classics to his garage! I was always thinking why he didn't add a Defender to his collection. Glad to see the Defender getting a place in his garage. And he has got hands on a well loved one! No offence to earlier owner but In my view it looks even better after removing the stickers and the new coat of paint. As always looking forward to this thread.
Cheers!

Awesome thread!!! We incidentally owned one of his 369 (as told to us), which was a green MM 540- KCE 369. We bought it in '92ish, restored it and sold it.

I've found memories of this vehicle, as I learned driving on it.

Yes, they do look lovely, but that doesn't change the fact that they're illegal.

For people commenting about the number plate: Several posts about this topic was moved to a different thread as it was irrelevant.

First of all, congratulations to DQ on his beautiful Defender. It definitely looks pretty fresh for a almost 25 year old truck. Kudos to BHPian Anish9000 for maintaining this beauty and BHPian Scorcher for sharing the story.
Secondly, Now I feel that we should have DQ as an active member himself. I really hope he becomes a member of T-BHP soon :).

In one of his interviews, DQ has shared that tBHP is one of the frequently opened pages in his mobile. I think he has been active for a while, as just another regular user.

Would love to see this kitted with Camel trophy gear if not the color!

That is what a defender is supposed to look like!!

The End.

Phew. Outstanding.

Defenders are the ones that any 4X4 fan would fancy. I have always wondered why DQ is not into retro Defenders (until this post) when he caught hold of a 90's Hilux. I always wished he got his own Defender as I always felt he had the taste for the same.

Next in line (from my wishlist for him) is 1st Generation or 2nd Generation BMW 5series.

Closer pictures of Dulquer Salmaan's fully restored 1972 Austin Mini 1275GT. I hope the other Minis also are doing well:)

Another interesting addition to 369 Garage!

Dulquer has bought back this J80 Land Cruiser about a month ago. This one was actually imported by Mammootty in 1999 before Toyota's official entry into the Indian market. Later, when he moved on to a BMW X5 in early noughties, this LC got sold to actor Ramu.

I have seen Ramu using this particular LC in many of his movies including Thanthonni. After using it for around ten years, he replaced it with a white Q7 in 2011. Now, Dulquer has repurchased it from somewhere in Bengaluru and is currently undergoing some restoration works at Mustang Motors if I am not wrong.

Including this J80, there now exists four Land Cruisers in their garage (two J80s and two J100s). The other J80 that he had bought in 2016 has the same specs I believe.

Attaching some pics of the beauty :
