That's a 991 Porsche 911 Carrera S, which was released in 2012. so it's impossible for that to be a 2010 model year car.

Most of these are too impractical and can't really be enjoyed on Indian roads, my pick would be a BMW M5 F90 (1.55 crore ex-showroom so it's cheaper than the Ferrari and Lamborghini, and can be used as a daily driver :thumbs up)

I'm sorry but if you're buying sports/super car then you can't have practicality as a parameter and none of them were developed so that they could glide through Indian roads

Great thread, hope I find my next car here :)

Some supercar listing have ridiculous prices, especially this dealer Exotic cars who is from Bandra. For example, he is trying to sell a RS7 for 1.10cr since the past year when a friend of mine sold his for 80L more than a year ago.

I wish used car dealers were more transparent in their pricing, but sadly this segment is full of punters and less about long term relations/customer service.

This is what holds back so many Indians and is the reason why the car scene here is so dull, even while picking a fun car we think about practicality lol:

I wanted to share the link with pics and add to this thread but maybe it's sold now - I saw a black 2008 Chevrolet Corvette for sale on OLX for Rs 65L. In RHD, too.

Yeah that's my point - none of these cars were developed for Indian conditions, that's why I'd rather own a M5 instead. It's ridiculously fast but still practical/usable here.

The M5 has 625 horsepower (750nm of torque) and can do 0 -100 in 3.1 seconds and will do 309KPH flatout, while still being a practical 5 seater saloon with a large boot (the family will approve of it too)

For those who do want a dedicated 2 door sports car, I found a 981 Porsche Cayman S (with the naturally aspirated Flat 6, not the new Flat 4) for sale at BBT's Bombay dealer-

I think most of such cars are tired owners owned who expect high prices and dealers stock them on consignment basis to add brownie points to their showroom/stocks. Make an offer and probability that deal will happen.

Looking at the Huracan Spyder, I assume that's a test drive car which was used during the glory days of the Bangalore showroom. I had heard some reviews from prospective buyers in my circle who spoke about the cosmetic condition of the car. I had heard that the bumper and certain parts of the left-side were dinged pretty badly. Looks like it's fixed now.

As for the 488, the car is as good as brand new. I can speak volumes about how well the car is maintained. Only if I had that kind of moolah for an upgrade right now.

The Used Car market is a joke here. And especially for Jaguars. Had a tumultuous experience while selling the F-Type. The dealer bought it for peanuts and now when a friend is offering to buy the car for a small premium, he's asking for the price of Peanut Masala from a Fine-Dine restaurant (let's say a 70% mark up).

Need this kind of confidence in life. :uncontrol

The fact that these cars are on consignment with the dealer and dealers have no money invested is the biggest roadblock when it comes to buying rare cars in India. All dealers small or big who advertise cars on classifieds quote extremely high markups, way beyond the value of the car. The dealers have no skin in the game because they neither invest in inventory nor do they spend on classifieds because all classifieds are free nowadays, so the dealers are banking on hitting the jackpot. These cars would easily sell if the owners themselves advertised the cars online at the actual selling price. I liked the old days when classified ads were paid not free so that people will think twice before advertising cars with unrealistic prices.

Ridiculous pricing!! That Ford Mustang should be not more than 35/40 lakhs and the Boxter S should be about 20 lakhs considering its new asking price was about Rs 50 lakhs.

BBT prices are usually absurd. I bought this Cayman for my friend from Gurgaon dealer few years back which was shipped to Bombay, he sold it a while ago. So this asking price is crazy. Their markups are too much but I’ve heard they provide good after sales support in case something goes wrong. They also provide above market rates for cars purchased by them and hence more repeat business.

I think their business model works better for folks who change cars often and not one time buyers like us.

For others I guess the absurd interest rates on used car loans need to come down for this segment of 30-50 lakh used weekend sports car really takes off.

A few days back we read the experience of a fellow Bhpian buying a used Porsche. I understood that his focused research and willingness to wait for the right vehicle paid satisfactory dividends.
Word to the wise - if a deal is too good to be true, beware! Exotic cars are a rapidly depreciating asset class and a discretionary spend. The condition of the economy will heavily influence price when you are ready to sell. In addition to the steep capital costs, the demands on one's time and the fairly expensive spares :Shockked:and servicing must be factored.

These cars are Prima donnas and unless you are ready to treat them as such, they can be a millstone around your neck.
