Saw this beauty from Goa in mumbai today on my way to the airport. Is it a visitor or a resident in mumbai now? The driver was driving it quiet sedately.

Not entirely sure whether this was the face-lifted one - or the original R230. Must be fun to drive none the less.

If it's the SL63AMG, then in most probability it is the facelifted R230. The pre-facelift R230 was available only in SL55 and SL65 AMG variants. Also I believe these wheels were not offered on the pre-facelift SL AMG's.

Open to correction.

That is indeed a facelifted R230 SL63 AMG. I don't think it's a visitor as I remember seeing old pics of the same car in Mumbai.

This SL63 AMG was impounded by the DRI some years back. Belongs to a red sanders smuggler. This was 1 among many high-end cars which were seized, not sure if he got/brought back the other cars as well.

Makes me wonder how much do these cars sell for now, considering they had been impounded, neglected and maybe abused too.

No doubt they would be freakishly expensive to maintain - but wouldn't that being their resale value drastically down?

Is this the same person whose Ferrari F430 (ex-Poonawaala) was seized? I don't think there was any issues with the cars per se. I believe the SL63 AMG was official available in India - so doubt it would be a jhol car.

There were a couple of SL55 AMG's on sale on OLX going for around 30-40 lakhs. No doubt the maintenance will still be expensive.

Yes, its the same person. That F430 was a Spider. Its more a case of a jhol person than a jhol car!

A matte-wrapped CLS63 AMG recently changed hands for 22 L odd in Goa. Belonged to a Hotelier who has a Lambo in his garage.Sweet deal I say for 507 NA horses.

Are you sure its a CLS63AMG? The reason I ask is because I think (rather pretty sure) there is only 1 in India as far as I know and its still in Mumbai.

Yes.It was a CLS63 AMG. More than 1 in India. Im talking the old gen..the model our very own moderator Akshay1234 has.

I think there's one more CLS63 AMG in India. Remember seeing pics of a Platinum Blue CLS 63 AMG. Not sure if its a genuine one though.

Octane - you are right! There are two. Our moderators sample is just divine isn't it? Immaculately kept and maintained. I heard the one that went to Goa and back hasn't had a great life.

I think this popped up for sale recently but seemed to be a diesel modded to look like an AMG. Again, I could be wrong.

I maybe wrong - but are the CLS63 AMG's that rare? I know about Akshay's CL63, other than that I have seen another white CLS63 last year and a badly maintained Matt black CLS63 just last week.

I guess we 're both talking about the matte black example. It was up for sale in GA a couple of months back for a mouth-watering 22L.
