The registration number on this seems to be fake. I saw this car which is parked next to the GTO in which I was very keen. They look like jhole cars to me.

Hey Aditbelw, which SL55 are you referring to? I don't see a GTO in any of the pics in the previous page.

Hey V12, I am talking about the one with ML registration. The GTO is always parked with the SL: This one is listed on olx as well. The SL is out from it's parking for a shoot session in my opinion.

Are you interested in the GTO?

Bumping up an old thread.

The ML regd SL is still up for sale somewhere in Kl.

Was there an SL65 AMG in India ever? Interesting to see so many SL55's but no SL65 AMGs.

Not sure if it's up for sale, but the said SL was in a very bad state. Needed a whole lot of work last time I saw it.

I don't think the R230 SL600 / 65 was ever launched in India. There may have been private imports but haven't heard of any R230 SL600/65. The facelifted SL was launched in 3 variants - SL500/350/63 AMG - but they were in V8/V6/V8 supercharged.

The pics when it was on sale on OLX show the interior in pretty bad condition. I had seen the car when it was red and then it changed colored to silver. Seems the car had gone through a change of colored when it was in Bangalore as well....was it wrapped? When it was red, I am pretty much sure it was painted since it didn't look like a wrap. Same when it was painted silver. Either times it didn't look like a repainted car - looked factory finish.

What a coincidence! Just as you type of this reply I am told of an 2006 SL65 AMG R230 up for sale. At all of 65 odd, which in my opinion is pretty steep for a decade old car. Arent these things supposed to depreciate like stink?

Nonetheless, i do find the 2006 -08 models visually more appealing than their successors.

Probably it commands a high resale because it maybe the only SL65 in India. Prices of SL55s are less than half and that of the 500 lesser. Do you have a link where the SL65 is put up for sale?

Here it is.. Seems matte wrapped on silver.

I wish it were priced saner though.

Thanks Octane - yes the price seems too high and the car looks like it's a bit buggered up with the Matt paint / wrap, blackened wheels. . I don't think the wheels are OE too.

It's painted silver now, not wrapped. The car needed a lot of work, both mechanically and cosmetically. And yes, the wheels that are currently on the car are not OE with incorrect tyres.

You will notice that everything is in past tense, that's because I am not sure of the car's condition or whereabouts now. The car was here a few months, does not have any MB service history prior to that.

Am sure it will not

Its listed as a Mahindra on the RTO records. So probably a grey import / jhol (Beware: Fake registration numbers on Imported Cars (proof on Pg 3)).

Hello Folks. Sorry to resurrect a very very old thread but if anyone can help, it will be the tbhp family. I am on the hunt for the OG SL55 AMG. As per my research here, only a handful came into India. Since TBHP is the defacto repertoire of all things supercars, could the wizards here help me find any SL 55 or heck even the SL 65 {only one ever came into india right?} hidden somewhere and willing to be sold? I know these are very very rare cars and are probably at their final resting places but I really want to give it a shot and find a clean one if someone could point me in the right direction. DM me or please share leads here. I hope the mods don't mind this? Please feel free to correct me Mods.
