Sorry to barge in on this thread, been a lurker since the start :D

But I can vouch for the scottoiler system, it is fantastic. Did a 3.5K Kms trip on VStrom650 equipped with the V system, chain was super clean even at the end of the trip despite riding through rain, slush, dirt and whatnot.

Did not need to carry chain lube or cleaner spray at all. As mentioned by jmjmec, it washes of the dirt build up along with it. Of course, that doesn't mean you never need to clean the chain again. But on long hauls you don't need to worry about cleaning and lubing the chain every 300-800 kms.

Exactly the set up which I love to have in versys once I buy it.
I could not find any aftermarket panniers which directly plug in to the mounting holes provided in versys.
Thanks CGB for sharing clap:
can you please share information on price and how he sourced it.
Are those fog lamps mounted on hepco and becker engine guard?

Those foglamps are mounted with that bracket which is provided along with the lamps. All accessories are purchased from USA at a eye watering price of ₹1.5L Kawasaki Versys 650 launched at Rs. 6.6 lakh-imageuploadedbyteambhp1470279360.919449.jpg

Looks really beautiful with those panniers. But, Kawasaki India should have given us options of green/yellow/orange colors in India

These panniers are a perfect fit for the green colored Versys:)

Btw, I see the Panniers, Topcase, Fog Lamps, Levers added to the bike. Am I missing anything else?

1.5 Lakhs for above is steep isn't it?

Loved those panniers. The Versys looks a different beast with the original panniers, very balanced. But that price!! You could buy our very own 'desi' adventure tourer for that one.

Cheers...

Hi CGB can you put up a cost break down for just the KQR 28 Panniers, KQR 47 topcase and its mounting hardware?

I am thinking of purchasing the same from Thailand and carrying them back with me.

Does anyone have experience bringing in accessories this bulky as aircraft luggage?

How much will I have to pay as Customs duty if at all.

From personal experience in Bangalore &, Chennai airports, ideally, these days the customs guys are mostly looking at their scanners for gold, LCD TVs etc and in other cases anything that has some unfamiliar electronic circuits (they know it when they see in their x-ray screen cameras, ipads, mini music systems, car stereos and other regular stuff which they dont care about). Since these panniers are plastic, one suggestion is to tight pack them in 2 separate cartons and you can fill your personal belongings like clothes, shoes etc inside the panniers and around it. Avoid any electronic stuff in those 2 cartons. 99% the customs wont bother you at all.

Disclaimer: If they charge you, sorry I dont know you :D

the original plan was to stay the night but we were advised by the locals that we were camped out on Elephant grazing grounds and that the elephant dinner rush usually started by about 5pm. Not wishing to be an item on the pachyderm buffet menu we struck camp by 4pm and headed back home.

The ride home was through pouring rain and this was the state of the chain at the end of the day as captured today morning, 450 km since it last received any attention.

i forgot to increase the oil flow rate on the Scottoiler to take account of the rains otherwise the chain would have been cleaner, oilier.

Mobike008, here you go. A sneak peek at CM's odo.

Mind you this is with 2.5 month of hibernation due to his visit to US. Otherwise I think it would have crossed 20k easily.

@ku69rd: This was at CKM as Red Liner quoted.

Some more pics from that ride. This was the Krieger's monsoon ride which took place over the weekend. Initially it was all D's club. Now with members upgrading to higher capacity bikes, it is now a riot of capacities. The group has 1200 Tiger, Duc Multistrada, Street Triple, Z800, Yam R6, RD350, Navi in its wings apart from D's

Nice. Looks like you and Chetan are thick friends. I did see him cross 12Kkms so looks like it will be a while for him to touch 20K kms

Warn him there are a few creeping up on his numbers and ask him to return soon:D

Jacob : That is a fantastic trip you took to Munnar and you are lucky to have some amazing roads and environs so close to home.

I absolutely loved my maiden visit to Munnar in Dec'2015 when i drove down from here. That waterfall looks familiar. Here are some pics of the waterfalls we visited when we were in Munnar

Is it the same? Would love to off-road on Versys in this terrain and not to mention ride on those lovely and foggy ghat roads with tea gardens on both sidesclap:

lol: How good are the KQR Panniers over broken, bumpy roads? I believe your Concours 14's Panniers have a similar 3 point mounting system. Not off-roading mind you but nasty post monsoon crater infected roads?

I am afraid I don't recognise the falls you've visited do you remember the name or location? I'm asking because I would love go there too. Munnar has a lot of waterfalls small and big and most of them are seasonal and chances are you might miss one of the smaller ones if you visit at different time of the year.

And if you or any member Tbhp member is visiting munnar in the future look me up, if I am Ashore and free, I would love to host or join you guys.
