Booked the V650 at the probiking showroom in Trivandrum on Oct 5th.
The impatient wait has already started.
It is the same place from where I took delivery of Duke 390 last year. So I know what to expect from them.
Already they shifted the initially promised dispatch date of 17 Oct to 24th Oct.
Calls the showroom manager every alternate day just out of excitement. Feels like a kid waiting for a new toy. :D

Congrats. clap:

Can you please share the pricing details for Trivandrum? The showroom, I believe, is located at Vazhuthacaud.

8.2 lakhs OTR including insurance.
Road tax is a whopping 20% for bikes costing above 2 lakhs exshowroom :Frustrati
Showroom is in vazhuthacaud. Opposite to govt. womens college.
Service center is near ayurveda college in MG road.

Subodh : Congrats and look forward to your delivery pics!

Woah! 20% is pretty steep and that's why it's taking the OTR price to a different level. I remember paying a lot lesser:)

Thanks CGB.

Comfort and torque is what I am looking at. Both for rider and pillion. Hope it is no slouch in the speed department too.

Being in the southern most state of India, far away from Pune, the delivery is getting shifted again and again. Seems like the bike has not yet been shipped from the Pune plant. They are waiting to club the transportation with other orders from this region, which unfortunately is very less. As per the dealer, three V650's are transported in a vehicle.

Also got information from dealer, that the PDI is completed in the factory itself. Is this true?please:

Thanks to the tax structure of Kerala Government, we end up paying the highest on road price for bikes costing above 2lakhs in India. :deadhorse

This depends on the dealer attitude and for reducing transportation cost, they end up doing this. Stay in contact with dealer. Will he be waiting for two other customers to book V650 and you'll be waiting till that? Absolutely ridiculous.

Every company does PDI and releases the product. But its necessary for us to do a personal PDI to get satisfied before the time of delivery. Do a PDI and take a delivery. Congrats on V once again. :thumbs up

Not necessary that there should be 3 orders for V650 from the region. Even other CKD models of Kawasaki can be included and the total number should be 4. Ninja 300, Z250, ER6n, N650 can be any of these. Talk to the dealer.

Any of the showrooms in Bangalore offer a proper test drive of the Versys?

Had been to the Mekhri Circle, Bangalore showroom today and they informed that test drives are provided only post booking, and that too only for two kilometres. Not more, even if I'm willing to pay for the same from my pocket.

OTR is 7.9L with three year warranty included.

If you are okay paying , why dont you try something like wicked ride and rent it for a day ? That should let you try one across all terrains .

Now I feel silly. :Frustrati stupid:

When Wickedride introduced Versys to their fleet few months back, I was happy and thought the exact same thing. But I just didn't think of it today, after all the excitement of being able to see the Versys in person, finally.

Thank you. Will try it out.

Three year insurance. 2 Year warranty or 30k whichever is earlier.

Right. Too excited. :D

I'm looking for something with decent backseat comfort as well. Natural competition should have been GT 650 v/s the Versys. But the GT doesn't have ABS.

And unlike my earlier impressions, the Benelli range doesn't feel too VFM, with the 600i ABS coming in at just 70k less than the Versys. But I'm confused if I'd miss that inline4 roar later.

Can someone experienced with the Versys answer a few questions please?

1. I thought it was a hot selling model, but the dealership had vehicles in stock for ready delivery. Are the sales going good?

2. I haven't used any of the bigger bikes above the Pulsar range for a longer term. Is there anything I would need to do for maintaining a Versys, other than regular service?

3. What are the essential accessories? So far I've thought of frame sliders, chain lubrication, radiator guard.
