Despite the announced all India ex showroom price of Rs 9.98 lacs for the new Ninja 1000, the pricing provided by Kawasaki to the Bangalore and Kochi dealership has a higher ex showroom price :Frustrati.

The latest price given to the Kawasaki Cochin dealership is Rs 10.24 ex showroom which means TCS is applicable and the OTR price is Rs 12.74. I am waiting for them to share the corrected price breakup.

Meanwhile Kawasaki's Bangalore and Cochin dealerships refuse to sell parts over the counter to owners which to my knowledge is not legal. Have any owners complained about this?

Surprised to hear that! Here's my quote for Delhi in case that helps -

The handling charges will be waived off as per my discussions with them so the effective on road price in Delhi will be 11.02L. I am further negotiating for a better deal or at least some free accessories like power socket, radiator protector etc. Will be going over this Saturday for a closer look. Planning to get the panniers too at a later stage.

Further as I am outstation I had asked them to supply me with basic consumables like air filter, oil filter etc. so I can do a basic service myself. They have not refused so far. Will discuss that further too.

Cheers...

Thanks for sharing, do keep us updated on whether the Kawasaki dealership is willing to share basic consumables with you. Hopefully this reluctance from the 2 Kawasaki dealerships in the south will only last till spares start coming in and supplies stabilize.

The one N1000 in the Cochin dealership has already been booked. I wonder if the owner will get a refund of the extra amount he paid (including additional road tax and TCS) after the dealership corrects its ex showroom price to Rs 9.98 L. I will keep my ears open to find out more on this.

This will be available in Pune showroom post September and will cost around 12.15L. Surprising since Pune showroom is 15Kms away from the place where the bike is assembled.

Can confirm that a couple of people I know have picked up basic extra spares over the counter itself, while doing their regular service.

However, I'm not sure if they follow it as a policy. Currently there is shortage of spares (though basic service spares seem almost stabilized) and could be the reason why they deny selling parts.

The K&N set can be easily bought off Amazon.com for 60$ landed in India. The air filter is lifelong one.

Only the oil filter is about 6$ (400 bucks) there or it is also available on Amazon India and Flybhp.com for about 1100 bucks.

This is the specs for the aluminum drain plug washer which can also be easily procured from any hardware shop in India -

A very funny review...

In Mumbai Showroom, Kawasaki Ninja 1000 costs 12.15L On Road. Below is the break up:
Exshowroom: 9.98L
Insurance: Rs.33,540
RTO: Rs.1,83,460

I'm feeling jealous looking at the Delhi RTO charges which is almost 1L less than what we have to pay in Mumbai. Also the Insurance cost is 10K less in Delhi.

Has any one else been denied to purchase insurance other than the one which the dealer offer? In Mumbai, they mentioned you cannot purchase insurance from outside.

Sharing a couple of pictures I clicked of the Ninja 1000.

No such thing out here.

Kawasaki Hyderabad doesn't mind you taking insurance from outside and they sometimes even match the external figure and finally it's your prerogative from where you want to buy it

I will check with them again why they are denying the insurance from outside in Mumbai because I think a consumer might be able to find a better insurance quote outside than what's offered in the showroom.

Hi Avi, what about handling charges??here i have been quoted 10,000 as handling charges after a lot of haggling with them. It was originally 25,000.

Btw guys just purchased Aria defiant from amazon japan (known as aria rapide-ir in japan) for 32,000 (all inclusive) which i feel is a fantastic deal. Ordered a silver color and came here in 3 days flat. The deal is still on so anyone interested can buy.

1. Handling charges are illegal and there is no question of reduction. Just show them the kawasaki quote from delhi and tell them to drop it or hear legal speak soon.

2. Could you please post a link to the helmet deal please?

Handling charges as you know is abolished by the govt and is illegal but, dealers still try this sweet trick on naive customers

If you'd like I can speak to Kawa Hyderabad folks on your behalf and instill some sense into them:)
