Might not be the right thread to post this news......

Despite severe criticism for their cold hearted attitude towards customers, Kawasaki sales seems to be hitting the roof and they jumped to 3rd position overtaking Triumph with respect to sales in premium motorcycle segment.

I think this is primarily due to their steady launch of bikes across the range

What is most interesting to note is that HD Street 750 has risen back from the ashes after their brakes related issue and continuous to be the flag bearer for HD

Major contributor being the Ninja 1000, all 20 bikes being lapped up immediately. The Z900 seems to be picking up nicely after the price drop and to sell 48 bikes from the previous 10 seems to be a huge improvement. Ninja 650 was always their bread and butter bike and the smaller 300 seems to have picked up due to no competition from Yamaha. Versys 650 also had a strong month. The Delhi dealer has 6 confirmed bookings of the Ninja 1000 in que and hopes to deliver all of them together as and when Kawasaki supplies it to them. This goes on to prove that India is a price sensitive market EVEN in the premium bike category.

Cheers...

The sales are understandable. Kawasaki has rock solid pedigree and isn't second fiddle to anyone. Despite that it continues to provide products at a superb value equation across a wide price and product segment.

The N 300 relatively is probably a pricey product but doesn't have credible competition.

The 650 twins are again mostly solitary and provide an entry level big bike options with abs at a super price point.

The Z 900 is stunning and "arguably" provides more for its money than its immediate competitors the street triple and the Ducati monster.

The N 1000 is probably the most VFM proper litre class bike that money can buy today.

The versys 650 is absolute vfm price point for ADV option giving 75% of the tiger XR/XRX experience at 50% of the price. (Just illustrating pls don't hang me on the percentages).

All in all, the bikes are practically selling themselves despite the rubbish showroom experience.

Mumbai Dealer has already delivered 4 Ninja 1000's and second lot of 4 bookings also already taken. Deliveries for second lot are expected in October. For some reason the stocks are not arriving as quickly as I was expecting being a SKD.

Yes, but, what is baffling is that buyers are still not pivoting towards the Street Rod, which is a much better machine that the plain vanilla Street 750.
With a price premium of around a Lakh and a half, it might be slightly pricier, but it is much more motorcycle for that price.

Rightly, many have noted that the Street Rod should have been the "Street" itself, in the first place.

The Delhi dealership is offering FREE Insurance on ALL Kawasaki bikes during the Shraad Period -

Received the Radiator Guard and 8mm Spools from AliExpress -

Made from high quality 2mm steel which has been blast/powder coated. I couldn't bend it by hand.

The finish is quite excellent. The Z logo is laser etched.

Also received these 8mm spools.

The quality of the CNC Aluminum spools is just exquisite in hand

I am pleasantly surprised at the quality levels of these AliExpress items. The Radiator guard came well packed in a cardboard box with multiple layers of bubble. No duty charged from me by India Post (Registered Post). They are equivalent, if not superior, to the ones of Evotech that I had a close look at. Now the wait for the bike continues...

The 2018 Ninja 1000/Z1000SX will be available in the new colours from October 2018, which is our probable delivery date - http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2...-colours-2018/

I doubt, however, if the new grey silver color will make it to India.

Also I doubt if they will be changing anything except adding that one new color to the 2018 range as the bike was already quite thoroughly updated in the 2017 version.

I would have been surprised if they didn't sell their new bikes in the first month of the release. Yamaha even sold their over priced MT09 when it was launched.

The best indicator would be trend of sales over a few months to indicate if sales is really hitting the roof. This does not indicate service improvement, but more so on the value on offer for a price that is significantly lower than competition.

Triumph was meant to hit the bottom considering the changes they were offering on different models and launch happening as late as June. Potential customers would have decided to wait(till Kawa launched and simply jumped guns :) ).

Having said that, if Kawasaki can only put some effort to not become a skoda of motorcycles they can definitely lead in this segment. Their bikes sell themselves but service is like the only way they can blow away competition. It is not like others have better service records(read Triumph- but with Bajaj partnership, this may change).

The infamous Bangalore dealer seems to have reduced some of their charges, as reported by some Bangalore owners. Will keep an eye on this for some more time and get back if things have really changed or not!

I don't like doing much off-roading (so put the Versys off the radar) and have already crossed Leh/Tso Moriri/Pangong/Nubra from my bucket list which I did on my Himalayan (now sold). Cheers...

Great! Congrats. Ninja has to be green :)

The Cochin showroom has 4 booking and they expect it to come next month. Wanted to TD one for a friend but seems there's no TD bike.

No TD bikes available in Bangalore as well. The 1000 is really selling like hot cakes - whatever limited supply they had planned is getting sold out.

The radiator guard looks good - most of the stuff on Ali Express are really of good quality. Just keep a watch on the spools though - I had bought similar ones for my Z and the LHS one just got loose and fell off. Congrats Dkaile!

Thanks. Adding Blue Loctite to all add on bolts is a good idea to prevent them from falling off. Also these are A2-70 Grade Stainless Steel 304 bolts. Further, adding 3M double sided foam tape to the backside of the Radiator Grill should be a good idea to prevent any vibrations and a snug fit.

Radiator Grille that I have on my Versys is from Ali Express. Honestly speaking, it is light and little flimsy and is not great quality. However, it does it's job well so reasonably happy

I don't believe in spending money on so called branded stuff which do exactly the same job (maybe little better) as the price difference is ridiculously high and over accessorizing the motorcycle is also something not high on my list

Besides we have our own Versys guardian angel who makes all accessories for Versys (now including the center stand) has expanded to all popular super-bikes:)
