And now a few (rumored) spy pictures have appeared.

More of a render than a spy pic - but I hope it does come true!

That ZX-10R'ish front end is way better than the modern Kawasaki designs like the Ninja 400, ZX6R and Versys 1000.

Do we know if it will launch in India? Not sure if it will be a road legal machine. I'm visualising the size of those 62.5cc cylinders. Like a syringe.

2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R inline-4 cylinder bike rendered

Renderings of Kawasaki ZX-25R, an inline 4-cylinder, quarter-litre bike have surfaced online. It is reported that the bike will debut at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.

The images show a 4-cylinder engine with a red cylinder head, a full fairing with sharp and edgy styling, a transparent visor and black ORVMs. The headlights are split in the center by a RAM air intake. The ZX-25R gets a trellis frame and rides on upside down front shocks. The bike gets dual disc brakes at the front.

The ZX-25R's 250cc, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is reported to develop 58 BHP and has a 20,000 rpm rev limiter. Reports also indicate that the bike will not get any forced induction like its larger siblings - the H2 and H2R.

A pinch of salt is advised as I see a 'Choke' switch in the mix.

The clocks too are of bikes from the 80's and 90's, no way these can be seen on a modern production bike. But see the numbers on the tacho, 20,000 RPM with a redline starting at 18.5K. Wow!!!

I think they read all your prior posts and decided to go back to carbs!

Ram Air Intakes don't work with carburetors unfortunately

Learnt it the hard way when I flipped the manifold on the ZMA and tried to pull off a Desi Screaming Eagle.

Re: 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R inline-4 cylinder bike rendered

The 'clocks' picture seem to be hinting at the return of the era of glorious 250cc inline4 sports bikes - which can revv to the moon (read: 20k rpm)!

It doesn't look like a render.

I think the bottom dials are from Kawasaki ZX-R 250 and the top dials are from Yamaha FZR 250.

Both set of clocks look the same to my untrained eyes. The top one is being revved to an astonishing 19K RPM and the one at the bottom is at idle.

Re: Kawasaki working on a 250cc inline-4 Ninja (ZX-25R)

Looks like the real deal is here at the Tokyo Motor show. The Ninja ZX-25R. Powered by an inline 4 249 cc engine. Job well done Kawasaki

Traction control, power modes, separate function forks, quick shifter and all other bells and whistles are provided.

Re: Kawasaki working on a 250cc inline-4 Ninja (ZX-25R)

Wow!

The specs, at least seem top-grade. This should be a desirable machine at the price of the current Ninja 400.

249cc inline4 motor
Trellis frame
Showa SFF
Quick shifter
Power Modes
Traction control

Unveil video - (2nd part to the above one).

Highly unlikely. Kawasaki owners are currently living a nightmare of a customer service, and sales have been hovering at a low.
In fact, the city I'm currently in doesn't even have Kawasaki's network.
Not to mention that this will make all its power up really high in the rev range and most riders will deem it impossible to live with. I feel the compression ratio on this engine will also be very high and will require high octane fuel, which is available only in a handful of cities.

Re: Kawasaki working on a 250cc inline-4 Ninja (ZX-25R)

Even if launched it will meet the fate of N400. And looking at the specs it will easily be asking upwards of 7-8 lakhs OTR which will then make people think of other bikes as VFM.

So I wouldn't hold my hopes up. There's a better chance of Suzuki launching the VStrom 250 than this.
