Now there are thinking whether to service those grey imports or not. They may not. Went there today with a friend who's got the official R1.

Quick Question

Will Yamaha launch the 09 R1 in India for the same price?

I have a friend who Rode on his official R1 all the way from Delhi to Dehradun.Wherever he needs to get his bike serviced a guys comes from delhi and does it at the Yamaha showroom in dehradun.
From what I heard from him Yamaha are not quick at spares.

What about others places ? Are spares slow there too?

Yes, the '09 will be launched here but, what do you mean by the same price? 13 lakhs?

The showroom here in Bombay is huge. Its also the service workshop. They don't have stocks of spares as yet. Once they get those, they will start servicing bikes.

My friend has the official R1 he bought from the Delhi showroom and he says, that place sucks compared to the one in Bombay.

If you dont mind, can one of you check if they stock MT-01 accessories in Mumbai? If yes, I need a splash guard for the rear wheel - things like that are unknown in this desert land, but it is part of Yamaha's official MT-01 accessory list.

Also, do they stock Akrapovic Stage 1, 2 & 3 kits for the MT?

They haven't got accessories with them yet, other than apparel. I'm pretty sure they will not stock the Akrapovic stuff.

Ok, here's some 'andar ki baat'. Yamaha is launching the FZ 250 (to compete with the Ninja 250), FZ1 and the R6 sometime in April '09.

@straight6: The Ymaha showroom that you're talking 'bout is a very small one; I don't think they'd sell R1's from there. Nevertheless, I'll ask....

The 09' R1 for 13L...holy cow. That's a humongous 3L+ difference over the grey market....

I found out that, its a 3rd party dealer for Yamaha. Its not the factory shop like the one in Malad.

The grey market R1's are now around 8.5-9 L.
