I talked to one of the dealer here in Nagpur, AT 4x4 and manual both are available but built on Confirm Order, the Confirm part is where you need to pay 50% advance!! they said this is Mahindra dictact, any one who have booked please confirm, I may want to go for AT 4wd, any confirmation on this would be appreciated.

Thanks, gone through these thread, my concerns is 50% down payment and then wait for 60 days, I believe this must be just dealer requirement as 4x4 don't move out od show room and they might want a compete piece of mind for them self before placing order to Mahindra. Will update once I see them again.

You are right. Additional downpayment and extra wait time is expected in case of a 4x4 SUV as these are not fast moving. However, a wait period of 2 months seems to be a bit high. Why don't you check with another dealer? Also, 50% downpayment seems to be atrocious. Even if you pay up a lakh in advance, there is no way you are going to let it go and back off from the deal!! In my case, although the dealer was insisting on a downpayment of atleast 50K, I paid up only 20K for my Safari 4x4.

The marketing manger has promised to get back after discussion with higher up tomorrow, I am hoping for a favorable response. Will update how it goes.

PS: He said Mahindra is promising 45 days delivery once it's confirmed to them, second thought if these vehicles are going to be so rare what's happen to service and spare(AT Model)?

I paid 1 lakh as an advance payment for my Scorpio AT with Airbags to AML Motors, Hyderabad. The car was delivered to me within 5 weeks of making this payment.

The sales rep initially did mention that AT's were booked only on 50% down payment but eventually went ahead with a 1 lakh advance.

Raj,
Have you met any Scorpio owner who has transplanted the spare weel onto the rear hatch door.
Want to know few details regarding
1.Any stability & handling issues.
2.Any rattling issues from hatch door after the transplantation.
3.Any RTO violation by doing so.
4. How the modification is done regarding strengthening the hatch door.
5. Positioning of the Number plate after modification.
6. Any problem with hatch door lock with additional overhanging weight of spare wheel
6. Any long term issues.
I have seen a couple of Scorpios zooming past me in Kerala, but could not meet any owner.
Any body having a Scorpio with this modification , please post few photos.
