Great to meet all. Food was a disaster. I doubt it that chicken and fish could have saved the day. The amount of oil they served me in just one lunch far exceeds the total oil I have consumed in past 5 years. Wish the oil could have been extra virgin or ghee or butter. Anyway, first and last visit to Wonton. Food may not have the ONLY reason for meeting but it was pretty important since we all came with high expectations. On hindsight, postponing to Thursday and sticking to the earlier venue would have been a better idea.

Ditto. I agree. Except the soup and mushrooms everything else was bad. Thanks to chilly gravy and masala, I was at least able to eat something. I wonder what went wrong with the chef today, I guess he probably went to attend the wedding and some rookie might have took over for today.

Anyways, I had a great time interacting with everyone.

@Farukh and Traveloholic, thanks for planning and making the first meet of 2013 a big success.

Let's plan on making the next one a drive cum food meet

The meet was fun alright. I was hoping my last visit to Wonton will be a one off bad day but my second visit also turned out to be bad. I am sure Nikhil gave them appropriate feedback.

What I am most keen on as next meet would be a mixed bag car or bike ride meet to a closer location like Vikarabad and enjoy lunch at a dhaba on a sunday. Any takers here?

The Wonton, which never failed to amaze me put me totally down today. I was taken off by the bad taste of food today. This was the least I expected from them. I would have accepted that sometimes, they make disastorous food on Fridays due to heavy weekend rush, but commiting this sin on a Wednesday, is not acceptable at all.

As other have lashed out at the food, I shall not take much virtual space to write about the quantity of Oil seeping out of the starters. None of the dishes were upto my expectations or were not upto the mark, based on my previous experiences at The Wonton. There was a time, when I drove down from Kothapet to Gachibowli on a Saturday to have Buttered Prawns. Those were the days.

Somewhere deep down inside me, I had a negative thought about the food all the time & it turned out to be true. The star dish of Wonton, Buttered Prawns was something, I never expected they would screwup on.

I told the same thing yesterday. Hope their Main Chef is not absent else the Buttered Prawns would not turn out as they should.

Quite surprising about the food part. Have always enjoyed eating at Wanton. Did you guys try out the Phad Thai Noodles? I loved this particular dish the last time we ordered.

No worries, such things happen. Let's blame it on the Junior Chefs for all the bad taste. What really irked us was even after repeatedly telling them not to add more oil, they kept on adding more. Well, to cover this up, we need to plan another meet and since we already tasted Chinese, Arabic sounds just fine.

I propose a Ride Meet on Jan 20th or Feb 3rd

We can ride till Vikarabad (75kms one-way) and on return stop at a dhaba for lunch.

People who wish to come in cars can come in it and others on bikes. However, whoever has bikes i urge them to RIDE

Let's see which date gets confirmed and who prefers what as their "rides"

It was good to catch up with Hyderabadi T-BHPians after nearly 3 years.
The food was a let down true, and at one point we were really wondering if there was a need to go for the full course meal, given the huge amount of starters we had consumed!
