If it is 19th of feb, I wouldn't be able to join. Off to Sringeri (you see Shivratri falls on 20th Feb.)

So you guys go ahead and come back with loads of pictures!

That will be Approx. 330KMs roundtrip. Here:

Mumbai Meet: 4th March, 2012 : Bhandardara Dam-untitled.jpg

One can have lunch at Bhandardhara. Mtdc, Malshej could be next option but the food quality is average (not recommended).

PS: I may not be a part of this meet as I will be either in Mahabaleshwar or on my way to Bhopal but any info needed, will be glad to update here.

We can even rescheduled it to 19 Feb 2012, keeping in mind on 12 Feb 12 there is a Pune meet. What do you all suggest?
Trust me, back to back meet have never been successful. Atleast I don't remember any 2004 onwards! So, best option is to postpone it to next month.

I will be driving back from Ahmedabad on Feb 19, so I will have to miss it if that is the date.

I hope you guys have fun, though.

re: Mumbai Meet: 4th March, 2012 : Bhandardara Dam

Great to see the Bhandaradhara drive materializing. Unfortunately I may not be available on the 19 of February as I may be off for Desert Storm 2012, and the next weekend will be out as well. If this drive can be postponed to the 04 of March 2012, I will definitely be in.

As far as the route goes, I have done this drive a couple of times, and the last one as recently as last year. As HVK has pointed out one cannot go through SH 44 and the shortest and best way to go to Bhandaradhara is to turn off right from NH3 just before reaching Ghoti. The roads are properly marked so thats absolutely no problem.

With regards to lunch the best option is the Anandovan Resort which is very nice and far more hygienic with better food quality than MTDC, at a fabulous picturesque location. The price can be negotiated to around the same as what we paid at Oye Punjab depending on the numbers of course. I have also stayed at this place so I am speaking from experience. I could speak to them or pass on the numbers to anybody else who would want to coordinate the food arrangements.

The route to come back as proposed by Iqbal Veerji via Malshej Ghat and NH222, though very scenic is far too long and it would be best if we came back via NH3. There is a fabulous 45 Km drive around the lake which I have marked out around the lake for those who are unto it. We can all the drive after lunch around the lake or even do the drive before lunch and then have lunch. There are plenty of places to stop and have Tea if anybody is keen in between.

So over to you guys to decide.

If there's a sizeable number, let's not postpone from 19th to 4th. Even I'd be out as expressed earlier if it is on 19th.

We can always have another one in March. It would be good to have such runs once a month! Let the feb quota go on!

Ayes to Ravinayar on date and Anandvan. I will also be able to join if it is on 4 Mar. I am in Ahmd on 18,19 Feb and then in Kuala Lumpur the next week. Mar 4 will probably be just right in terms of weather, with very low chance of fog. Ok, maybe I am trying too hard .

Hi, want to be part of the meet on 28th Jan, very much associated with forums by just going through the view points of teambhpians.

Anybody from kharghar or navi mumbai area, new to mumbai, so not aware about the bhpian location meet.

Awaiting feedbacks.

I would like to join in, but this month wont be possible. If the meet can be re-scheduled to 19th Feb, I can try.

re: Mumbai Meet: 4th March, 2012 : Bhandardara Dam

Seems like this meet and drive on 28th is not materialising.

Here's some updates. Parag.Sachania is in town (mumbai) on 28th. I intend to have lunch with him in Vashi (mostly inorbit mall). Added attraction is the Ecosport on display in inorbit vashi (not confirmed though).

People who aren't driving to Bandardara and are interested in lunch at Inorbit with me and Parag may join us.

And for the ones planning on the drive, I see 4th march being proposed. I can join for the drive on 4th march.

People interested in lunch on 28th of this month at vashi are requested to PM me so that this thread doesn't end up as an OT.

Today is 28 and the meet to Bhandardara didn't materialize. So the meet is rescheduled to 4 Mar 2012 with three attendees at least there in the list.
So we still have a month of planning and the food joints to be finalized.

Even met MX6 today at Inorbit, Vashi where Ford Ecosport was displayed. Had a good time. In the end meet is on for 4 Mar 2012 even if few bhpians are there.

Note to mods: Please change the title of thread to "Mumbai Meet 4 Mar 2012 : Bhandardara Dam".

Mumbai Meet 4 Mar 2012 : Bhandardara Dam
List of Attendees:

1. MX6
2. ravinayar
3. el lobo 6061
4.

Lets make this happen.

^^^ Many BHPians, including me, are taking part in the blind man rally scheduled on 5th Feb. We have our briefing on 4th Feb. So I guess I will have to skip the meet this time.

@ el lobo 6061: spare the discs this time!

Rajeev the meet is on 4 Mar 2012 and not on 4 Feb. Now you would be able to join in. I too would have joined BMR but going out tomorrow for a trip to Oz.

Let see how the disc perform this time but Vento's braking is certainly class apart. Brakes faster than one can accelerate.
