Well, It was a fantastic meet. Discussions were informative. For me the best part was getting on the driver's seat of 1100D's 1100D. The drive back was great. Thanks tacho9000 for arranging the same & everyone else for gracing the occasion. Looking forward to more.

PS : A bunch of superbikes also showed up as a treat to our eyes.

Great that you liked it. Thanks to you and Subhodeep for being close to me on the way back, it was very thoughtful. Hopefully Rampiari (as the 1100D is lovingly called) did not slow you down a lot.

No, the front left wheel clips have lost the tension and thats why the hubcap was lost from there. However after parking, since the photographs would be taken from the left side, the hub cap was swapped to that side. The last snap was taken just before we left, so the hub cap was moved back to the proper wheel, prior to the drive back.

Report :

Meeting point :

The meeting point for the group was Near the airport. We left at 7.45 am. It is always great to drive in a convoy. Avrendu1 got left behind a little as he was running in a new Dzire. We all reached Azad Hind Dhaba at around 9 am.

Meet :

We were greeted by the HOGS Bengal chapter 10 mins post our arrival. Soon the star of the meet "Fiat 1100D" arrived. Then the discussions over Chai & Naashta started. There were discussions about routes, vehicles, travelogues & the upcoming Leh/Ladakh trip. Obviously, a meet is incomplete without a proper photo-shoot. Photographers were graced by multiple shots with multiple arrangements of men & their machines. The official photographers were Samba, Shomshree, Tacho9000 & 1100D. We are yet to get the whole pictures on the thread.

Departure :

We started back for Kolkata at around 10.45 am. While coming back the convoy was distributed in groups of 2-3 cars each. I was following 1100D all the time. I thought it would be nice to be the follower car of 1100D for both safety & pleasure. Of course, the pleasure of watching this 1100D cruise on a nice 4L highway is unmatched. On an open stretch I noticed that the distance between my car & 1100D started to increase. I took a look at my speedo and it was at 95. I tried to maintain an approximate constant distance to see how fast exactly the 1100D can go. I was surprised to see it go past 125. Yes, you heard it right. 45 years young and still goes to 125+. We slowed down after that and cruised all the way to Kolkata.

It was a very well coordinated meet hosted by tacho9000. Looking forward more.

I did have the camera with me, but from what I saw was already been shot by better cameras and lensmen, I decided to minimise my work. Thankfully so, the pics in this thread are really amazing.

You're going to shoot me for this! But I did loose one wheel cap! It was stupidity but then result of pure adrenaline rush of teaching a Marcopolo a lesson.

I hope you have read the drive back section of the post. Something you can be proud of. The carb settings, the advance, the brakes the clutch, whatever one can say, has been to your detailed suggestion.

Except the 3.9! Its running original 4.3 now. Will get back to 3.9 and retest sometime, although I probably know the result ;-)

Dada even my camera cherished a pleasant stay on the polished dome. You can see it in the group picture.
