Yea, we had a small but nice meet. We took a spin in Rajoy123's brand new i20 and it didn't fail to impress.
As Figo_mba said, we went to the Kalamessery Indus showroom to check out the Ertiga.
I for one think it looks great. But as an MUV, its terrible. The rear seats are horribly cramped and the boot, well there isn't one!!
No doubt the 1.3 MJD and the Maruti badge will see it sell in some numbers, but only time will tell.

We then came back to Highway Garden and chatted away, and checked out the cars.
Prashob showed us the stock ICE in his Figo and we agreed that it wasn't bad - until you visited the ICE section on TBHP!!

Govind showed off the great sub in his Ritz and his comps were fantastic!!

Then my car - well, they all had a good laugh looking at it, and there was even more laughter when I started it up. I guess they were all thinking " this guy must be off his rocker to be seen in that thing!!"
Ah well, I still like her though, except the damn spoiler!!

We are having a drive meet the next time though, so let's get the planning started!!

Lets drive to Arthunkal. it's a place which most of has not visited yet...so why not?

Ertiga is nothing exceptional but 1.3 MJD + Maruti has not failed (SX4 did not sell because of its looks) till now & Maruti has made a new segment (LUV) to counter the Duster/Ecosport/Rio MJD mini SUV brigade.

@naveen, it's okay man. i'm sure you would have come, if there was a way.

What about a May 5th meet. I will be there at Cochin during that weekend.

Let's decide the date few weeks in advance. Arthunkal is somewhere near Cherai right? If so, that would be the best place.

Athirampilly is another choice but bit far when compared to Cherai and also it will be crowded.

Yea Naveen, We college kids went on a bike trip to Athirapilly on Friday the 13th and boy, it was CROWDED!! I thought the date would have kept people home, lol.

Yea forgot to mention Rajoy sir's shock in the thread report. Poor chap couldn't get over it at all (2.25 lakh kliks, are you kidding me?? )

naveen.raju is conspicuous by his absence in the snap. I was wondering "How come he of all persons missed the beat"

I so sorely missed out on meeting the new faces.

The road to Arthunkal is broken at places for a stretch of around 8 Kms. Had been there recently. Otherwise the drive is nice. If you are to follow the highway route (as shown by Skyline's first map) to go straight, it isnt worth. The drive has to be through the coastal route.
1) You can come cross the Thoppumpady BOT bridge - take right, go towards fort cochin via PT Jacob Road. At the T junction take left to intercept the coastal route where it starts. Lat Long- (9.934929 N,076.246147 E)
2) Else, from Thoppumpady, take a left and intercept the coastal route through Palluruthy as shown by (Skyline's second map)

As an alternate to Arthunkal, we can also consider Andhakaranazhi (Light house Chertala). The place has been taken up and developed by KTDC. It is just close by.

I went to andhakaranazhi yesterday morning, just to see if the roads are good. the route is good, especially for nature lovers.
