Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

Maybe its still early days, but any plans of a drive this coming weekend? I'm aching to drive in the rains, for which we would need to head to the right place - an overnight drive is what we need to plan for.

A weekday meet will be very localised.
For example, people working in and around Indiranagar can probably meet up at EGL. Similarly those around Hebbal can meet up at Manyata

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

Next time let's also plan for a longer trip. May be with overnight halt somewhere. Coorg/Wayanad/Chikmagalur/Ooty etc would be some options.

Actually you wont believe this , Praaji actually took a towel out of his car and asked everyone to wait for sometime .

Guess what he did !!!!

He cleaned the alloys of his OHC and then the photo shoot happened

Cheers.

Roger that!

Guess all the waterfalls too must be slowly blooming now. Maybe a trip to Hogenekkal?

That will be interesting! Hope this idea does not remain embedded in this forum.

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

Mukurthi would not be easy.
More than a drive it would also be a heavy duty trek (for which I would game anyday!)
But yes it quite heavy duty.

Unless one would just want to go to the finishing hut and come back.

If a trek has to be arranged, then permits would be needed for DFO at Ooty.

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

A tough trek is something which I won't be able to do. Best I can manage is something like Kemmangundi Z-point type easy walks/treks. BTW, how about Kemmangundi? And please keep it after next to next weekend

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

I think Mukurthy should be heavy duty stuff.

1. Reach the base (Fishing hut). This can be done in a Jeep that needs to be hired from ooty.
(Booking and Permit needs to be done in advance).
2. We start on a Thursday (2/3AM) and reach Ooty in the morning 8-9AM.
3. Park cars and hire jeep to reach the base after lunch on Friday.
4. Stay overnight at base and start the trek the next day (Sat) early morning 6AM. You can complete by 8-10 hours (my guess). We should be back to the base 3-4AM.

5. Either we stay at the base overnight or come to Ooty on Sat. Start leisure drive back on Sunday.
