I forgot about the tow-hook. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll check that right now!

how come the windows were open? Couldnt you have wound them up without the engine running , or were you just impatient.[/quote]

There were just the two of us to push the car -- the Mech and me. So both of us had to push, while one steered. The mech steered and pushed with the window open, and I just pushed. I tried steering while pushing, but boy, is that steering tough to turn when the boost is off!

I got the car back yesterday evening. They charged me 1076/- for the job, and for the 2nd service (I'd done 5120 kms so I the II service done too). The extra charge in the bill was 495/- for removing, draining and cleaning the petrol-tank, refitting it, and cleaning the fuel lines. The fuel filter was changed too. All is well. I've settled up with the petrol bunk guy also.

The car will most likely get ICEd before the weekend *restless*. Just waiting for the comps to get delivered. I had a strategy session with Zuheimi yesterday evening

Hydra nice to know that the car is back in shape. But tell me how did the petrol bunk attendant manage to fill petrol and water into the fuel tank?

Thanks, Sankar!

There must have been some kind of leak of some kind in the bunk's reservoir. The petrol was filled the normal way, through the nozzle. The water got in with the petrol. The bunk owner shut down the bunk as soon as the Maruti mech showed him the petrol + water mix in a bottle: the petrol could clearly be seen lying above water.

I was lucky in the the sense that the rains had not yet started when I filled petrol. Else the bunk owner might have claimed the tank had water in it already. And my tank was about empty -- 39-odd liters of petrol were filled, according to his own dispenser. So there was no way about 13-odd liters of water could have got into the tank in any other way.

*ahemhem*

Eeyullavan koodi varunnathil manyadehangalku enthenkilum vishamam undo?

(May I attend?)

I shall try to make any time you propose. But you gotta let me have a Get out of Jail Free card - relatives land up tomorrow and they'll want to be chauffeured around in the naya gaadi everywhere. Then there is the Peninsular visit to get them to redo my paintjob...

I paid near 4k money there! I can't just let it go. I managed to get a hold of a guy from Honda to call the Service Manager there. After all that, if they won't give me a repaint, I'll see about other options.

25th is fine.

Bah, me and a friend were all psyched up about meeting you guys.

I hope another meet is set before Saturday so that both of us can participate. We go on a drive to meet some friends on Saturday and Sunday :( .

Aww, noooo! My friend will be leaving to EKM on Sunday itself. He'll be very disappointed.

He's a follower of the T-BHP forums, but hasn't registered yet. His mechipurams are the Kerala forums on skyscrapercity.
