Well, the story goes like this:

Peninsular says delivery at 3:30PM. I call up at 2:00PM to confirm. He says he'll call me back. He never does. I call again at 3:00PM. Dude says 3:45 confirm saar. This is why I wanted to start early. By bus, from my place to Peninsular takes an hour and a half - provided there's no traffic.

greenhorn says he'll be at Peninsular by 3:30. I tell him to make it 3:45 or maybe 4. I'm at the bus stop at 3:02. I don't get anything until nearly 3:45. Grab an auto and I'm at East Fort at 4. greenie calls again and asks me to call jkdas. A short phonecall and a bus ride later, dude picks me up at Kesavadasapuram. I'm at Peninsular by 4:20. On the trip I listen to his new ICE and receive some good advice for my future.

Back at Peninsular, dude says it is done, they're wiping it down. One freakin' hour later, I get the car. By that time, the entire team is in front of Peninsular, probably cursing me for holding them up.

We proceed to Veli. We're making good time, getting ahead of the slow traffic, Safari clearing the way. I then look at the fuel guage and nearly faint - no fuel. Nothing. I had left the car with 3 dots, not even to reserve - they've driven 30KM from what I see on the odo - to use up all this fuel, they must've let it idle for hours while wiping down the interiors. I call up jkdas and he points me to the nearest fuel pump. More waiting for the dudes.

We get there, get introduced where I find out greenie's friend is an old schoolmate of mine. I listened to greenie's new ICE and loved it. Much T-BHPness prevailed.

As it got dark, we were the only ones left there and we joked around about policemen coming to check us out. Speak of the devil and one of Kerala's finest walked in from no one knows where. He, as it turns out, lives near dragsterr.

After some demonstration of different 100/90 bulbs in the rides, we decided to go our separate ways. I was planning to go to Motor Plaza for some minor work after the meet. However, as it was getting late, I decided to install the horns and bulbs another day.

It was great meeting you all and putting some faces to the names. Once again, I am truly sorry for wasting your one hour in front of Peninsular. Pics attached.

to add a few points
-saw a Linea TD car making the rounds. looks very verna-ish, but with a lot more prescence
-I had just parked my car, and noticed something strange. JK's truck was moving , but the wheels were not turning. Turns out sankar had decided to get some fun with the truck while parking , and was trying out some power slides - on grass ( to avoid any confusion,it was the safari that was on grass, not anyone ) Jkdas couldnt do anything!
-no one got any snaps of our liquid refresment on jk's truck? the one which dragsterr sponsored
-you forgot clevermax and his friend who later showed up in a white swift
- And the stuff which we were talking about, when the said member of kerala's finest showed up. Dont ask me though, I dont want to get banned!
-Now we know why Immortalz says everybody likes the civic. A whole busload - actually three busloads of kids arrived , and of all these rides parked , everybody swamped the civic. All the girls were like "oooh its so pretty" and the boys were like "whoa check out the civic" , and where taking pics with it
-the look on immortalz face during all this was priceless. He had just gotten all the scratches from the car removed. He was slightly worried if it might have been too early
-At one point a bovine comes up. Its goes straight towards the red getz, but then again We're pretty sure its not a bull. Then it spots jkdas's bull and goes thataway. We were afraid there might be some unwelcome "animal attraction" . The bulls horns ( no pun intended) scare it away i guess
-clevermax and the gentleman who came with him leave for some photography and come back with some nice shots. Post them here dudes!
-immortalz and my friend go off in a tangent and start discussing computer hardware. We take a cue from our alappuzha meet and start discussing dentistry! the people in question are stunned , and normal discussion is resumed.
-my friend met with a slight accident on his way back. Old men crossing roads strike again. he says its all right, mostly

PS: for those of you who are curious, from left to right, in the first pic, thats me ( looking the other way dammit!) sankar, jkdas, and dragsterr in the mundu

That's bad, I hope your friend and the old men are both okay.

Oh man, the guy did mention his bad luck with that bike.

About the kids crowding around the Civic, at one point some of the girls were trying to get on the boot for a photo-op! I was like "Nooo no no no, please don't scratch it oh please don't I just got it all serviced and polished and repainted!"

(Top Gear) Hamster's reactions when he was driving the Zonda in Paris come to mind... "Please don't scratch eeeet!"

I did catch the Linea, but I couldn't get a proper look at it as I busy driving defensively. Oh by the way, another Wagon R ticked me off today - tried overtaking me from the left at the entrance to the Palayam underpass when there was hardly enough space for quarter an auto. Last I saw him on my left ORVM, he was stuck halfway on the divider. Serves him right.

Haha, what is with you and wagon-R's
Me too noticed a similar attitude from wagon-r drivers, most are insanely quick and reckless. Well, hope he didn't destroy that underpass!!

@greenhorn : Ouch, that was not a good experience for your friend after the wonderful meeting we had there. Anyways thank God he is fine.

I would love to be troubled by those kind of wagon R drivers. I'm usually plagued by bovine WR drivers who drive on the middle or right lane and dont give way

Looks like you guys had fun!
I'm beginning to get the same idea about Wagon R drivers. Time to start a new thread-"Why are WagonRs driven so rashly?"

Hello!!!

It was nice meeting you all in person at the meet!

Two pictures I clicked during the meet, when me and my friend walked to the beach from the meet... Uploading smaller images. Same images with bigger resolutions are seen on my flickr album.
