I can assure you that Chennai OTRs are wayyy different and more demanding on both vehicle & driver. Believe me, the real thrill is in driving one or at least being inside one rather than watching it. Anyways, we are veering off topic here. Maybe we can combine off roading with our next meet.

Hmm. Yeah guys nothing has still been decided regarding the last meet for 2008.

My wife and I are now planning to drive down to Hosur where my wife's cousin's family stays. They've been inviting us for a long time now. I actually wanted to ride there on my Avenger 200 but now since you BHPians are also planning a drive, I thought I'd take the Cielo itself.

Planning to leave on 25th morning. It's very tentative for now. Can be changed to even 26th.

In case we plan a drive on the GQ, maybe we can come along till whatever place, and then branch off to Hosur from there. But this is just an idea.

What about a trip to Vellore guys ? Good drive, decent distance - approx 150 kms I suppose ? It'd be easy for everyone to get back to Chennai the same day. And my wife and I can just continue on the GQ towards B'lore to reach Hosur.

If the drive's gonna be after 28th, that's fine too.

It is Friday noon and we still have not zeroed in on the location for the meet planned for day-after-tomorrow. Anyway, that is typical ChennaiTbhp-style.

Will be off the net from today evening for the weekend. So, if something is finalised, could a kind soul (John/headers/nitrous) please send me an SMS about it ?

And are we still having the Friday WTPTs ? I was under the impression that the practise stopped after the change in status of one of the members recently, but then see headers mentioning that WTPT is on in full swing as usual. If so, is one planned tonight ? Where ?

I kind of like this idea. Leave on Sat evening, reach by 8PM or so, have a grand meet - spend the night there. Drive back on Sunday morning.

Pros :

1) Can have a leisurely meet - instead of a hurried trip and back.
2) Can drink without worrying about driving back.
3) Most of us will get to utilise daytime of Sat & Sunday for other family/personal stuff.
4) Can enjoy the drive - spread over 2 days and so not hurried.

Cons :
Many guys won't be able to get permission for overnight trips. No issues for me though.

Biju, looks like we are gonna zero in on some silly Beach of maybe Tirusulam.
BTW, WTPT is still alive and kickin until someone kicks it back! We even have a song in celebration of the same: courtesy Nitrous!

While I agree that the GQ post S V Chatram is decent. What do we do in Vellore?

And I personally would prefer a different location as I drive that road every week for work!

You have missed out the NH205

and maybe a drag between Irumbuliyur and Maduravayol
