October may not be a good time, since that is festive season- Dusshera, Puja, diwali etc....and most would prefer/need to be home with families......Just a thought

Agree with dicorex4x4. A weekend or an extended weekend of 3 days would be just perfect. Anything more will be not only overkill, but also not workable for many.

Don't waste time thinking, DICOR boy. Do it.

And you know you can count on atleast some of us Chennai tbhp-ians to give you company in your DICOR, sharing not only the fun, but also the expenses. And yes, we will finally get to Drink In Comfort On Road, with the bonus of a sober driver at the wheel.

@headers, e_l, manek et al, where are you guys ?

Goa sounds like fun. But will we be able to make it to Goa and back in 3 days ie. ex-Chennai ?

Dicorboy,

Goa from Bangalore is around 650-700kms & from chennai to bangalore its around 320km, so totally you will not cross 1100kms from Chennai to Goa. You can do it.

regards

Making it a National Meet can make more sense then just a safari meet.

Since Goa was the venue already lasttime, How about meeting somewhere in Vizag (the other end).

Im game for Vizag. Journey towards the north east on the GQ would be butter smooth. Can't compare the destination to Goa,though.

I gotta agree, Suman ji.

Btw, I just remembered there was a similar plan called "Safari to the himalayas" and it wasn't fruitful.

Its possible for non-safari owners to attend, they can always pitch in with the ones with available seating space.

National meet is at another level altogether and the attendees to this meet always have another opportunity for that.

once we get idea on different places in next 2-3days we shall keep a pole and then we will decide on other parts.

What Say ???????????

@ CR-V - Jude should we add on SUV's other than the Safari
Agreed. Now on lets stick to a format of posting on this thread.

Suggest as below:

You are from: NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, WEST [City Name please]

Range: Distance you are willing to travel at MAX.

PLACE: Your suggestion of the place where we can meet. [Please be flexible here and suggest atleast 2-3 places]

DATE: Someone on the thread suggested 1 month to decide and have the meet, I dont think thats a good Idea, Monsoon season needs to come in and go out in the rest of the parts of India so October is best suited. We dont want to make this a harrowing nightmare and as I said earlier, we are expecting families lets not embarass ourselves hence spend max time is planning an excellent meet after all it is safari's we are talking about - KING SIZE]

Comments: Also add a few lines of helpful comments. [if any]

OK good news. A fellow BHPian has offered to help us for bookings at any city in India great deals with the best of the hotels so we need to get our numbers up.

So 'KING owners' lets contribute to the Planning phase by giving in more of specifics and less of OT till we reach the Polling phase/ Itenary Phase so that we can belt out a relaxing holiday meet for you and your dear folks.

Cheers!

So you stick to your only safari thing. Nevermind,

City:- Mumbai (currently don't know after 2 months)

Distance I can travel:- A radius of say 1500km (wouldn't mind more if accompanied by more cars)

Date:- yes I said one month is enough and if we are talking safari king size I don't see problems with the rains.
Anyway if we are talking a 600km as mentioned earlier and since its famalies along I suggest a minimum of 3 days in travelling (round trip) or even more. Plus 2-3 days there even less.

I like travelling more and staying at one place less.

Place to meet:- As I said earlier capital or the place which falls exactly in the middle of india. Or else I would prefer some cool quite place. Away from crouded tourist destinations.

I was excited as hell when i saw the first post on this thread. And soon felt as if i have lost everything in life.

I have some business commitments which just want to kill me and not let me do what i wanna do. "I always wanted to quit on Monday morning. I realized that my life is not mine anymore" :((

But I am re-looking at my calendar and chking if I can make it...
