Friends, on weekdays I start quiet early in the morning and return back bit late. For last many weekends, I am working and not been able to give time to family.

I promised my family for an outing on this extended weekend. I am new to team bhp and would not like to miss this opportunity of meeting you all as well. Really confused? Will let you know by tomorrow.

Looking forward,

Supercool
Hi Supercool, as already posted I am very much in for the idea of bringing along family or a friend even if it just a coffee and not lunch/dinner. I look forward to your confirmation.

Just a suggestion: Why not lunch on Sunday? A daytime affair would mean that we can admire each others rides too and talk cars. Stellar club sounds good, so that we can put in that drive on the Greater Noida expressway to and fro. Maybe all can drive back together - what say!

Cheers

Sumain
Indeed a nice thought; however, postponement is a little difficult now. Moreover, a lot of us including myself would be meeting/talking for the first time. My idea of this meet was to make it as an ice-breaker so as to make subsequent meets bigger and more enjoyable.

Depending on size of group, we can also simply eat at the restaurant (a la carte). Since I too am a member there, we club members can sign in the others as guests. The bill can then be split up or whatever.

It can work out much cheaper than the their rates quoted for an "official" dinner.

Of course, this would be possible only for a group size upto say 10 or 12 people.

For those who have not been to Stellar Club earlier - the food is good, and the prices most reasonable. Highly recommended.

Also, its location at the end of one of the finest roads in NCR really warms the heart of this petrolhead. Group drive after?

Cheers

Sumain
In for the thought Sumain; however, delhi bhpians coming to the meet are finding it difficult to drive down to Gr Noida. Stellar indeed is a great venue, I propose our next meet at Stellar and a group drive after would be an icing on the cake

I do believe you'll need to fix up the time and location soon. Most banquette facilities are booked on long weekends!

I know I just told you that cafe 18 would be nice, but seeing some other posts I am tilting towards Stellar.

Advantage of Stellar:

-We can all park in the same spot and check out the vehicles!
-It will be a bigger more "natural" place.

Any Idea on how many people can sign in as guests? I do believe booking the place seperately might or might not work with the numbers? but a buffet snack/ tea would be nice.

Advantage of cafe 18:

-more central location, but its a relative comment, probably if we have more people coming in from noida than greater noida.

-Smaller hall hence cozy for conversation.

-Good quality snack food, Was voted highly in some times food guide awards. The owners are there to attend to you and are interesting people. (space has character, if you know what I mean. not that stellar doesnt, but it is different)

Disadvantage: Parking in the huge sector 18 parking, will probably not be able to chat around the cars.

Anyways, I do believe it should be your call, since its your initiative

Cheers and look forward to meeting everyone.

Also guys.. carry a bunch on visiting cards.

-
Thanks buddy, pleasure was all mine. I have already expressed my opinion on Stellar whereas Cafe Style comes in next thread (the hall has been closed BTW); carrying business cards is a great idea.

Does it call for a poll between 3rd and 10th?

+1 to it, we should meet more often, if some of us cannot make it to this meet, let's fix up the next meet little sooner.

Dont get me wrong, I am all for '2 is company and 3 is crowd' :-) but that just doesnt seem right in this scenario.
I am going to post the updated list of attendees along with the locations so we can decide whether to:

1. shift from 3rd to 10th.
2. Call for a poll
3. Keep it as it is.

you in sec-71, that's great. No I'm not in B block, I put up at Metro Apartments (block A-5). Would you mind PMing me your number and I'd more than happy to catch up?

As for the meet, please do post the final status by Friday.

Nice suggestions by some folks here. Even if some guys can't attend the meet, a fortnightly/monthly meet to drive to some place would be nice.

Back in the US, my friends (not really friends but lots of acquaintances) and I would drive some roadside shack out of town (like a dhaba), have tons of great food and then head back home. Sometimes we'd have over 50 cars of all shapes and sizes rolling along in a group. Sometimes a cop car would drive alongside to see if we were up to any mischief but we usually knew better.

Visit to Cafe Style

Hi Friends,

I paid a quick visit to Cafe Style sec-18 last evening and it turned out to be a pleasurable experience. I happened to meet the owner of the cafe, Chetan. He's a nice guy and has quite a liking towards cars; he himself drives a vintage Beetle (I managed to sneak a peek at his red Beetle).

The cafe has indoor as well as outdoor seating space and its own parking which can easily accommodate 15 cars roughly. He was thrilled to know that we are thinking of having a TBHP (he's familiar with this name) meet at his cafe. He said he could seize the outer parking space as well if required. The cafe bill board has some nice thoughts on it; I remember the following two:

Music has seven letters, Wiring has 26 notes.
The person you love is 72% water.

Overall, looked to me as a nice place for our evening coffee meet with some snacks. He said he'd make some arrangements in the outer seating space and ready to offer us Team-BHP discount special rates.

We can easily line-up our cars together in its parking compound and check them out.

MODS: Please excuse me for the back to back posts but I need to split them up for clarity's sake.

Hi

I am a little confused as to whether we are planning a lunch, dinner or simple evening tea/coffee . We have had proposal for all these and nothing very clear has emerged.

Cafe style will be good only for a evening tea/coffee and light snacks so that rules out meeting for dinner or lunch. Reason for asking is that I will have to see my availability based on prior info on timing as I will be rescheduling my meeting accordingly. So if someone is taking the onus of putting up a list of confirmed members then preference for lunch / evening snack or dinner can also be put up

Let me know what you think

6-8 seems a better idea, specially when we plan a sit out arrangement.
