Vazhachal falls - Watch out for leeches they are in tons. By any chance if you trek this area you will surely be dead not just because of wild animals but these blood sucking leeches.

First - BRRaj: Thanks for initiating this! Two days of bliss! Wonderful drive, wonderful locale and a fun packed gang!

You son is a little rocket himself, apart from that i10 of yours!

Special thanks to Naveen & Vaisakhr for driving down to meet us.

Yeah, the hotel was not great (which is actually a nice term!), but then, it was not something that you guys had control on. We at least know now on one hotel to be avoided, like plague, at Chalakudy. Come to think of it, what is the name of that joint?

And yes, the walk down to the falls was one hell of a walk.

Will post the photos, from my side, shortly.

Is this the one on the NH47 to your left in the direction of Palghat, immediately after you join in from the athirampally road?

Been there once seeing the parking place. Rest was history!

Nice Pics. Thanks for sharing, though I have a suspicion you have mixed up the dams & the falls. Is the first one Aliyar Dam just as you climb up the Valparai Ghats. While the pictures you have posted resemble the Charpa falls than the Vazhacal falls.

Roads after valparai ghats till athirapalli falls were not in good condition and took us around 2.5-3hrs to reach athirapalli.

We entered Riverok villas which was decent and food was excellent compared to other kerala hotels around. Had dinner and slept at 11pm after some chit chats.
