Great results Hiren!
That looks like straight-out-of-the-assembly-line!
Also, did you leave out polishing and waxing the bumpers, it "seems" like they are not treated. It could be the pictures, so, just don't worry of you have.

EDIT- I saw the first three pics again, and I think you did. So, thumbs up!

Thanks for the compliment! No I did polish the bumpers, if you see the first and second pic you can see the metallic paint flakes shimmering. The pics don't do it justice trust me.

I still would want to try a clay bar once to get rid of the roughness in lower part of the doors/running boards.

Thanks again guys, I will sleep a happy man today. :D

Could not resist, posting pics, though taken in the semi-covered parking and surely with 1/2 the effect what it would have been had it been taken outside. However the effect of Pinnacle is great, as is evident from the second shot esp of the side panel

Excellent wet look. BTW, did you repaint the rear back side of the car (2nd pic) as the paint finish does not match the rest of the car.[/quote]

Nah- its just a effect of the light that caused that. I always feel- a picture can convey as much so not a great fan of taking pics, also my skills are not that great. Yes, but when i saw the pic again, it looks as if the paint finish is not as smooth- its the light reflection at that angle! I have pics of the same panel in prior posts.
@abhi- will surely do that, prob is that in the day time ,sitting in a cube:( and by the time get out, the light is out(rains here every evening)
@notorious- My fav sealant is blackfire and fav liquid wax is surely Pinnacle now.
Fav paste wax- NXT anyday!
I think its more about being regular and diligent than any product, however the cheaper locally available versions, do not fall in the same league as those i am now using IMHO

Good to hear that. BTW, I have send you a PM yesterday.

Hi Fellas,

I am trying to get my hands on Sonax Auto polish and their car shampoo in Mumbai. I tried a couple of shops in Milan subway but they did not have it at that time. They asked me to check back in a couple of days. Since its not on my commute, I decided to buy it online.

Has anyone tried and had any success with Gamut Auto ? gamutauto.com

Does anyone know a retailer / stockist of Sonax products in Mumbai that is sure to have these?

The results are amazing. clap:

Sorry, can't resist cracking this old and stupid joke. Is the accessory shown in the image below an OEM or aftemarket one ? On second thoughts, it looks like a DIY. :uncontrol

I got mine from Hypercity, Malad link road. You should try there. They also have a few products from Armorall.

Thanks.
Well what do I say about this "Limbu mirchi thingy". My family insisted on having it on the car ever since I damaged the door within 3 weeks of getting the car. No point arguing with family, and it does not harm me in any way. Hence...

Finally I managed to get most of the products required for a detailing session.

Now I am missing clay bar and a quick detailer to maintain. Attaching the pic of my products.

A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide-28092010006.jpg

1.) Turtle wash & wax
2.) 3M Finesse - compound for scratches, it really works.
3.) Sonax Car Polish
4.) Collinite 845 Wax
5.) Formula 1 - Tire shiner
6.) Sonax multipurpose sponge for washing and removing dirt.
7.) Megs Supreme Shine MF
8.) 3M MF
9.) Jopasu Car duster (*not in picture)
10.) Jopasu MF (*not in picture).

Nice collection there! :D

I hope Jopasu starts shipping its clay bar! I need to try it out and see how it fares against megs and mothers clay bars!

btw I heard that BBImpex also has Megs clay kit!(price is ~2K ish) :(

You will get the same kit for Rs 1800 on Amazon through Shopyourworld.com without any discounts. See this link.

I agree! we can get it cheaper from abroad.(but it might take a lil' time to get there!)

So I guess if the ready availability is worth the premium price!?

I was kinda thinking of getting Marque D' elegance too! but the combined price will be like 5k! My mom will kill me! lol

It took me just 10 calendar days to get my stuff delivered. I don't think you will save time significantly by ordering it locally. Moreover, waiting 2-3 days for claying your car is not catastrophic, i think! Money saved is significant (20% cheaper) and hopefully you will get a genuine stuff when ordered directly. You can buy some useful stuff locally with the difference amount of Rs 500 or so.

You cannot have the item sent as gift? I got all my stuff as gift to save the customs duty. With additional discount on orders above 2500 and for using ICICI Bank card, it looks pretty good deal overall.

^^ Additional discounts ???
