Hey Fellas,
I parked my car under a leaking rusting pipe in monsoon. Came back six hours later and found car with a layer of dust on body. Immidiately cleaned car the best I could with soap water and cloth. Now even after a month I can see that the color where I cleaned is more lighter. Its not rust, but the color is funny as opposed to the other side of the car.
Does this mean my car is rusting? Can something be done to salvage this. My car surface is more rough at the point of impact than otherwise. Folks say that it wont rust as color itself is an anti-rust. But I dont want to take any chances as even after one service there is slight marks, very slight that only I can see from an angel. I can ignore it, but I dont want it to spread so please advise what to do???
I have a question to ask , ho do i care my megs m/f ???
i dont have a dedicated m/f cleaner , and they are not as soft as they are before and they are stained as well..
please suggest any good liquid mild m/f cleanner which is locally available .
Regards
Jas
So sad to hear that such thing has happened. Any automotive paint seller or now-a-days even 2 wheeler part sellers stock small packs of rubbing compound. There are rough and fine grades available based on the manufacturers. You may discuss the same with the shopkeeper. Please go for a smoother one. I once tried a pack of waxpol rubbing compound on my NE and the results where good.
I do not know specific shop in Delhi, but you can try Reliance Auto Zone. You should have one in Delhi. The one in Bangalore has all kinds of rubbing compounds, creams, pastes etc - all auto accessories basically.

Wow that looks good. Please start a thread on your car. Its a V6 if im not mistaken, also list out the mods. Didnt you have that red 1st gen Accord earlier?
If you have access to Silvo/Brasso, you can try them too. They work well, albeit a bit slower since they are finer..

After washing with detergent, soak the MF in a solution of a handwash like Dettol or lifebouy for 5 minutes. They will become soft.
Prateek - Excellent car & wonderful results :thumbs up Your ride must be turning heads !
Can you please share the process that you followed ?
Notorious - I wash my micros in a dedicated wash with normal detergent, a little rubbing together by hand initially to loosen up the dirt stuck in the fibres ! No spinning, just wring them out & dry them in the shade. Heres a nice article on how to care for your MF's ! I have also heard that dipping them in a solution of vinegar may soften them up, maybe other gurus can give some tips on making them soft again ?

@Prateek thats the real excellent stuff. Wow what a car!!! The black beauty truely looks magnificient :thumbs up. Please list out the steps and products you used.
But did you forget detailing the pipe finish for the exhaust ?? I think that was the only thing thats remaining or was left that way intentionally?? I can understand your exhaustion after 9 longs hours to detail the exhaust pipe :)
@ Prateek : Good work there on your black beauty.
A well maintained Black car is always a stunner. Most of the black ones we see on road are filled with swirl marks and dust.
BTW how old is your car ?
Holy mother ! That is one GANGSTER Accord.
Great job on the paint correction. Please list out the steps & products. Looks flawless ! I like the twin Remus poking out. Video clip of the rumble please :D
Get a matching type R badge for the rear too ;)
