I do not have a NXT wash. I have not used the ONR yet - got a small pack. I have used the UWW, both as shampoo and QD - I like it better as a QD. For washing, previoulsy I used turtle wax platinum car wash. Although it was good in lifting dirt, it also stripped the wax/sealant. Have switched to Meg's soft wash gel and find it to be the ideal one for shampoo - super suds, gliding movement while using the wash mitt, good dirt lifting and does not strip the sealant.

Used the soft wash gel for a shampoo session today, and topped off the Klasse sealant I put in a month ago with a coat of Collinite 845. Maybe when the current shampoos run out I'll get a NXT wash.

And I think I will get ONR's smallest bottle for claying and go for NXT to use as a shampoo.

so the weekend before last i got some time to kill running errands and chaeuffer duty and thought i'd wash my car, but i didn't have time for full wash in my basement (4-5 buckets of water and almost half a day gone) or the time to take it to 3M (only go to the one in HSR). then i remembered i had got a sample of Ultimate Waterless Wash Plus from Ulitimate Detailerz; thought i'd put that to good use. for the folks who don't know, the UWW is a concentrate and is a spray and wipe kinda deal.

before i washed the car, it was dusty and muddy - top to bottom and hadn't been washed to three weeks (yeah, i know - ain't proud of it) and rain didn't make things any better! after the wash, this is how the car looked like:







and all it took was 475ml of water + 25ml of UWW and 1hr of my time! :D yep, it isn't an exaggeration - just 500ml was used to clean the whole car, including the alloys! with this, not only am i saving water, but also time. planning to move from a sample to the full product :)

Is the product any good on cars that have been through a week's rain and slush? If yes, do you actually hose it down and then use UWW?

I've been using ONR for a while now but somehow its not really upto the mark when you clean with it in the rains. The smooth glossy look is absent, thus necessitating the use of QD.

no, i did not hose it down first. just spray on the area, keep for 30-45secs and wipe. remember, wipe, not rub. take one section at a time and move to the next. you do not want to keep the solution on for more time than 45secs as it will dry up and you'll need to out extra effort to remove it.

once all the dirt is removed, you might wanna go around the car wiping the surface with dry microfiber cloth. you may not get high gloss out of UWW, but you can see the results :)


ps: use a different cloth for wiping the running board, below the bumper and the mud flaps. also, do this in a nice shady place and not under the sun.

You did this on a detailed car right? As in your car was recently detailed and has a wax coat on top of it?

If yes then results are as expected since the slush will settle on the wax which is easy to remove.

If this was on an undetailed car, it will not work as well as the slush will end up putting minor swirls on the car even with the UWW.

um.. no detailing done, but had got it waxed 4 or 5weeks back IIRC :)

that being said, i've used UWW on my car without any waxing done and i get the same shine. i'm not sure if shine is from UWW or the original surface :D

In my case, I did water down the car as there were minute pebbles stuck along with the muck/slush.

You can use UWW as a QD and it works well.

+1 to that, from spotting to detailing, looks like your doing it all :D, I like the smooth slick finish once UWW has done its work. Saves water and time, with the car ending up looking clean :thumbs up

When a car is heavily dirty, its always best to remove the top level mud with some water but that said any quality product that can be used as a waterless wash or rinseless wash can also do the job if done carefully. I have not washed my own car which is used almost daily for over 5 months and not even in these rains and it has no protection on it. The road approach to my house is a mud fest with BWSSB digging so the car does get quite dirty at times. Yes there are chances of putting minor swirls but then there is nothing that we do which will not inflict those in indian conditions. The important part is to ensure a clean microfiber runs over the surface each time and as put rightly wiping and not rubbing the cloth is needed.

Thanks for the feedback. Will try and get a sample and see how good it works. My only concern is that if you simply wipe over the sprayed surface would it not attract swirls. For the gloss part I think what I see from your car pics makes me happy :)

Yeah exactly my point hose it down and then use UWWC else you'd invite swirls.

in case there is heavy coat of mud, like you said, it is always better to hose it down before using UWW. in my case the wash was completed between running errands; i didn't have time to get water to my car (was parked at a distance from my in-laws house). however, i was very gentle with the wipe on really dirty parts, specially the bottom part of the doors and bumpers.

For the past few weeks, I have been aggressively looking for a full sized DA to add to my armory. The Meguiar's DA power system is good, but the small pad size and heavy drill takes it's toll.
Now I see it is almost impossible to buy a DA in India as no one sells it. Greenzcarcare.in are out of stock for Kestrel DAS6.
Can anyone provide any pointers on how I can get a genuine DA in India?

Rotaries on the other hand are available freely - but I am thinking twice before picking one up as one wrong step with the rotary can cause irreversible damage to paint.

Greenz is yet to sell the DA is what I heard. They are getting them soon. So you can place a pre order. Ive the Kestrel DAS6PRO got it from UK. Greenz is having both listed in his stock I see. You can either import from UK or buy in India with the warranty. Whats your budget? There is flex machines also available. But they are a bit costly.

Better not to pickup a rotary as you know why.
