The car definitely gets dirty with grease marks and service center dirt, better get a wash if the paid service charges are inclusive of wash charges.

Its better to clean the grease and dirt by ourselves. The service center chaps wash and clean the car with dirty rags which itself is enough to induce swirls. I have faced that bitter experience twice.

It's been a while and wanted to post a few updates from my end.

#1 - Carpro Spotless - Had an opportunity today to try this one. Although spotless is a non abrasive water spot remover designed to work on paint coatings, and I have no coating done on my car, I decided to try it on the long standing water spots on the hatch glass of my i10. The standard fare is to spray, work it in using a foam pad, wipe with a mf, rinse with water, and wipe again.
Took care of the lighter spots , and deeper spots were reduced (guess they would need a soaking of vinegar). I am sure the spots would be back as the municipality supplied water is super hard water to say the least.

#2 - Bought some 2000 & 2500 grit wetsanding paper. Want to tackle a few paint runs around the car. Anyone selling sanding blocks in India?

#3 - Bought a Skil 8600 blower to hasten the drying process (http://www.machpowertools.com/skil-8...ric-air-blower) .
So now the washing process is pressure rinse->2 BM wash-> pressure rinse-> sheet water -> blow the beads away -> (finally) wipe away whatever water droplets remain

#4 Have goo gone and a plastic scrape on order from BBimpex - will post reviews in a week or two.

Planning to do anti corrosion treatment and a paint seal coating from 3M vashi tomorrow. Had queries

1. Do I really need to go for warranty for anti corrosion. Or just a good job is enough.
2. Should I do the paint seal and polish before rains or post rains. They say it will ensure water and dust dont stick on to the car much.

There are mixed opinions about additional under body coating from external agencies. In my opinion it's not required. Rest is your call.

Paint sealing is worthy and it is highly recommended. Instead of 3M, you can go with any other good detailing firm.

I have got the UC and wolfdang applicator pad which is hard at one side and softer the other.
I have some scratches on my car and how do i remove it using UC?
In UC, they say to apply on the pad and then buff off until its clear. But in youtube videos, they just apply and scrub either in straight or circular motion.

Only minor scratches can be removed by hand using UC. Just keep rubbing in circles till you feel you have achieved the results you want. If the product dries up apply a small drop and continue. Else spray the pad with a squirt of water and continue. If you continue with a dry pad you will induce more scratches . Once done wipe off with a micro fiber cloth. Don't let the product go dry before wiping.

Ok will follow it and see. And which side of the applicator foam should be used. The harder or the softer side ? And if we need a rotator, any suggestions?

The hard side must be used. You mean a rotary machine?

Using a Rotary or a DA with UC would give much better results. Also UC with hand applicator requires a lot of elbow grease. If small sections then hand application will work, make sure you spray the applicator with a QD after every pass. Large panels then use the DA.

Damn!! I was using the soft side. Yes I meant the rotary machine. In this sweltering heat unable to apply by hand and work.

What is this QD ?
Recently due to summer vacation, there were lot of kids playing in my flat in the parking area and this has resulted in faint scratch marks in my whole bonnet. So yes the DA is required. Any cheaper solutions?

QD -Quick detailer, those instant shine sprays used on a waxed car. Cheaper solution is the hand application with 3days of shoulder trauma.

I am an ardent reader of this topic and have recently bought a new Honda City idtec VX in carnelian red colour. I have bought the following items from UK for my new car
1. Optimum alloy and tyre sealant
2. Black fire diamond finish paint protection sealant
3. Kent microfibre wash pack and alloy wheel brush

I need help on buying a good product for protecting the leather seats and also advice regarding any other products I should add on to the above products. I am planning to get optimum no rinse car wash shampoo but not sure what wax to choose. Please help me friends.

Why don't you get Blackfire Wet Diamond polymer spray sealant. Using it every week or once in two weeks will protect the Blackfire diamond sealant and helps you to retain the gloss and slickness for a longer time.

You can also get Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather conditioner for seats. Its good.
