Hi, could you please tell me which year is your car manufactured in.
Secondly could you help me out with a few changes that i could make to my car as I am also from Ahmedabad please:

Sure brother. You can get in touch with me @ 9560502940.
My car is Skoda Laura DSG 2.0 2011.

My Rapid Tdi has thrown in the following two errors. Could it just be the issue with the battery which is of December 2016 or something more?
I had experienced long cranking during first start of the day on two occasions which prompted the scan. It starts normally during the rest of the day and there is no issue whatsoever.

2 Faults Found:
00532 - Supply Voltage B+
002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100010
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 10
Time Indication: 0

00446 - Function Limitation due to Under-Voltage
002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100010
Fault Priority: 6
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 10
Time Indication: 0

Try clearing the DTCs and then get your battery checked as well. The starter draws approx 300 to 600 amps during a start cycle. Although it is relatively Normal for a battery to support such short bursts of high current, but prolonged cranking does some serious power suction from battery. In the end internal resistance of the battery get so high that battery voltage detection logic throws a code similar to what you got. Low battery voltage.

I recently ordered an RCD330+ from AliExpress and installed it myself. The installation went smoothly and the HU was up and running in no time. The only issue I've encountered is that I am unable to adjust the fader. So I looked around on the internet and found out that this can be fixed by tweaking the code using VCDS as the system is unable to detect the rear speakers.

Can anyone in Bangalore who has a VCDS cable help me out? please: One round of coffee on me :)

I have a 2012 Jetta CL.

Does anyone know how to change the reverse tone & volume on Polo 1.5TDi? I can't seem to find this option.

Does the model year of my car determine which cable I should be buying ?? Or should I opt for the latest version ? I am considering buying this one from eobdtool.
Also, I have picked up a pre-owned passat whose front left door speakers and right door one speaker do not work. I dread having the door panel being opened by untrained 'car decor' guys. Is there a way to diagnose if they are shot ?? And can the VCDS help in permanently disabling the start-stop function on my car ??

The latest version VCDS cable will work good enough on any model/year of the car. I too bought the same version but from Aliexpress.

Yes, VCDS is quite powerful. I am using it on my Vento for last 4 months and pretty satisfied. BTW - I ordered a Chinese Ross-tech hex can cable (12.12.0) for $20 and it works fine.

Gentlemen,

Thank you very much for this comprehensive guide that you all have developed over the years. I managed to read the entire thread in one sitting and now am even more grateful about going for Volkswagen.

I have purchased a VW Polo Pace 1.0 L in April and am currently drafting the ownership thread and also carrying out various upgrades and additions.

I am writing this post to seek your guidance as to which is the latest cable i could purchase (18.0x version) from Aliexpress as there is a Black Friday sale that has started. I have checked many of the listings but i am still not sure if i have found the right one so If anyone could share a link of the latest one that would be very helpful.

Also, with the moderators permission i want to conduct a VCDS Tweaks Pune meet so all VW / Skoda owners can come and benefit from the cable. Maybe some experienced folks will be able to make more use of the cable than i would. ( If it works lol: )

Requesting readers to link me to the latest cable so i could buy it within sale dates.

Thanks in advance

Cheers! :)

Congratulations on the new Polo. Wishing you tens of thousands of miles and smiles.

Regarding the latest version cable from AliExpress, there is no way to guarantee which is the latest and if it would work with all the controllers in your car. Just check which of the cables has the most number of orders and order it. I had got three different cables from AliExpress (version 11.x, 12.x and 16.x), and all of them worked fine except they would not identify some controller on the car (only when I got the original cable, everything worked).

The only way to get a guaranteed working cable is to order the original RossTech cable :D

Thank you very much for the wishes and inputs.

I continued with my research and found this cable with just a few orders and some reviews that show the cable does work. Below is the link

Request you to please check it once and approve if i have found the correct one if not the latest one. The sooner i get my hands on this the sooner i can arrange a Pune meet.

Awaiting your inputs.
Thanks !

Congratulations on the New Polo. Wishing you happy miles ahead.

And regarding the VCDS cable, get the latest version 18.2. Should work well with the latest and old cars.

My Latest tinker!
- Activated the Cruise control display (Needed new ECU file)
- Reduced the comfort operation (key fob button hold time) from default 2 second to 0.5 second, the folding of mirror/rolling up of windows now happen instantly (Needs ODIS)
- Reduced the RLS sensitivity to 21% from default 52% (Can be done with VCDS) - reduced unwanted headlight activation in auto mode in those short tunnel/Underpasses.

I’m about to buy a new Passat Highline (B8). Can anyone elaborate on the useful tweaks available on the car, without hampering the warranty of the car (now that it comes with a 4 year standard warranty).
