Is there anyone based somewhere around Kottayam in Kerala who would be kind enough to lend me some time and a VCDS cable? I have a 2020 Vento Highline Plus and have been wanting to make some minor tweaks but getting a cable is proving to be difficult (as all of you have been discussing). Thanks in advance! :)

I've a Vento 2019 1.6MPi, if it works on mine I can buy it from you.
Has anyone got VCDS cable quite recently? If it is working for you guys, please share me the purchasing link. I would like to buy one.

Haven't you got the OBDELEVEN?

As i told you before, the issue is not with the 21.3 but with the cable. My cable worked fine on your car as well. Have also tried with other Rapid and polo 1.0 TSI
Got my hands on the Original Ross-Tech cable (Thanks to my cousin who came back from the US) and boy-oh-boy, it's a super tool. Thanks to this thread, I have been able to enable / update quite a few features on my 2019 FaceLift Polo GT TSI & also on my cousin's 2018 Skoda Rapid DSG TDI.
The one issue I am having is when I try to read the KMS on the ECM. I get an error. Same error on my cousin's Rapid as well. I'll be checking this with the Ross-Tech folks, however was curious if anyone here was able to successfully get the reading for the KMS recorded in the ECM?
Based on the error message, does this mean that VW / Skoda cars in India do not store the KMS in the ECM? If yes, is the only way to actually check how many kms a particular car has run is doing a physical inspection? since odometer values can be modified via VCDS (in-case of buying a used vehicle)

Yes. Got hold OBD11 of one pretty recently. Felt it would be good to have the VCDS as well.
Dear BHPians,
I am glad to be a part of this community. I am a car enthusiast.
I checked for earlier threads on this mentioned subject matter, for effective solution, but could not find one. Hence seeking help from the experts here.
I currently own Skoda Rapid Diesel, Style AT 2017/18 model.
A couple of months back, I had change headlights to LED.
Later I scanned the vehicle for faults through VCDS and this is what it threw up...
00978 - Lamp for Low Beam; Left (M29)
010 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent
I checked on google and various sites for solution but have not been able to find a permanent one as of now. I have changed the LED's , cleared the fault, but appears again in few days.
Requesting some directions, technical help or suggestions to resolve this from anyone.
Thanks..
Try swapping the bulb LH to RH. If the error is also switching to right (I believe it's 00979) then the issue is with this particular LED bulb, which I strongly doubt, since you already replaced the bulb on LH. But still wanted to make sure if the error is because of the harness or connector on the LH.

Turn off lamp diagnostics for this lamp through VCDS. It will stop checking this light.
@ Mr Boss..
I will try your suggestion.
Thanks..

I have cropped out their contact details from the WhatsApp picture they sent me (don't wanna get in trouble advertising something I know nothing about). Did not bother to ask them about how genuine the tools are, considering the official prices these things go for. |
Can you please share their Contact Details? It would help members and non-members (who can't DM) alike.

Sure, I'm sharing the link to their listing on indiamart.

They have not mentioned software version or anything here though. Please try contacting them for more details.
