I bought a VCDS USB HEX2 cable of Ross Tech from EOBD Tools from Aliexpress ver 18.6.
When I test it first time as advised by software it shows following 2 messages.

Intercated number of times with EOBD Tools on whatsapp but same issue.
Additionally when I open the VCI Config file of VCDS software , the interface list is blank.
Tried this based on advice from net.
however I have reached a dead end. If somebody can help.

I would believe that it's not the genuine Ross Tech cable. I have a genuine one and have never faced any issues whatsoever.
The original VCDS cable also connects to UDS interface, which is now being used in most VAG cars

The cables from AliExpress are always a lottery. You could end up with a working setup, but many times, they just don't work.
One thing you need to make sure when using AliExpress cables is to install the software provided by the vendor. Never install the software from Ross Tech web site. Also, try disabling internet access to your laptop while launching the software.

Searched for the CD along with the cable and loaded that software and followed their instructions. It works now:D. It is an older version but it works.
At times going slightly low tech is better. I was trying to update the latest software from Ross Tech site and that was not gelling with the Aliexpress cable.
Time now to look for VCDS mods guide. I know there are many on net, but any directions to any tried and tested ones would be appreciated.

I checked and realised that I ordered from EOBD Tools.com Not from Ali express.
Any leads for a VCDS cable in Hyderabad/Bangalore for one-time use?
Well, in Bangalore, Code6 has one but "doesn't offer this service", and my only other lead is Pete's (Classic Unicorn Motors Yeswanthpur) which might have one. The hunt continues..
At this stage I'll just buy one from eobdtools.

I have an OBDEleven ... can do the scanning or any long coding for you. What exactly do you want to achieve ? The label files in OBDEleven arent as advanced as VAGCOM VCDS. But if you know what you are looking for or do ... you can do it using OBDEleven

I checked out the pricing for a new device including pro package cost and credits. I was wondering if you are still using the device and if you may be open to selling it to me or lending where we can split the cost. Is this something that can work with you? I was looking at the following:
- Brake Assist to Early
- Comfort turn signal to 5 clicks
- Emergency Braking Flashing lights check
- Time to 24H format
- Reverse buzzer sound to a lower tone?
- Needle sweep/indicator celebration/staging on
- Tear wiping

All these are possible on OBDeleven ... I have in fact done all of the above in my car. Another one i find useful is unlock only drivers door upon remote unlock. and disable autounlock on ignition off.

Auto-unlock on ignition off has been disabled I think on my car already. The car doesn't unlock until a passenger pulls the door handle to leave the car.
And without request sensors, it'll be difficult managing the other occupants needing to get in or to get somehing if I enable only driver door upon remote unlock, which is something that happens to me a lot.

Recently bought a Hex V2 cable from Aliexpress, which came with 20.4.2 version of Ross Tech Software.
Downloaded the software from the link provided by the seller since I didnt have a cd drive in the laptop.
Followed the instructions provided by the seller and when after installing the software the below screen appeared.
I connected the cable with the laptop only and the following screen appeared when i did a test run.
Once I attach the other end of the cable to the Car (2015 Jetta HL AT), the message am getting is below.
Port Status: OK
USB Library Version: 03.02.07
USB Driver Version: 02.10.00
Interface: Not Found
Is this the issue with the cable or am I doing anything incorrect? Kindly request your help on the same.
Note: If anyone can spare me 30 mins in Chennai, that would be really helpful and I can come down to your place at your convenience.
