Re: Simplified: The Idiot's Guide to keeping your car clean & shiny I have an open parking and there is a lot of dust in my area. For my Windsor EV, the cleaning practice I follow is to pressure wash (Dylect Pressure Washer) the vehicle first to remove all the dust. Then I simply wipe it off with 500 GSM quick drying cloth (ShineXPro). Post that I put it in the car cover (Official MG Cover) until next use. I never really valued car covers, thinking of it as more of a headache, but it does keep your car shiny new. It protects from dust and UV rays.
Once the car is used, I don't put the car cover until the next wash as the car cover and dust may scratch my car. I make sure that whenever the car is used, it is washed in the next 48 hours. So this way, I wash my car using the above method a maximum of 3 times a week. But I don't use the car daily, so mainly after washing it goes into the cover. So on average I wash it once or twice a week.
Also, once a month I do a shampoo wash. So for that, I first pressure wash the car to remove dust. Then, I apply shampoo foam (3M) using the pressure washer. Post that I rub the foam with a mitten (Softspun) and then pressure wash the car again to wash off the foam. Lastly, I dry it with the 500 GSM quick drying cloth.
I don't use any kind of products for the paint like some wax because I have very limited knowledge of it. I am reading this thread for more info on it. I have also read that many people use the Jopasu duster to remove daily dust. I saw it on Amazon but I was worried that it would scratch the paint hence I avoided it. But incase someone has used it would be great if you could share a long term review. Also, if anyone feels I am doing something incorrect or I should add anything to my car care process please let me know. I would be really grateful |
