Thank you akshay1234. As suggested I've sent a mail to the only email ID I found on BMW site - contact.india@bmw.in. There is no dedicated link or email for customer service, which sort of surprised me. Do you know of any?

While I can see the 10 year BSI plus option with 1,00,000 km, the dealers offer only 2,00,000 km option, which doesn't sound very exciting. I have sent an email to BMW. I'll update on this thread if I hear from them.

I got a response from BMW. They don't anymore offer 1,00,000 km/10 years BSI in India.

Did they mention what all packages they DO offer? In their email response?

Re: Attached: BMW's full BSI & extended warranty price list (up to 10 years / 200,000 kms)

No, they did not! In fact my interaction with BMW is rather strange. When I raised the issue with BMW through e-mail, they wrote that they will discuss the matter internally and get back to me.

After two days their dealer called me and told me that BMW does not provide 1,00,000km/10 year BSI.

Another two days past and I receive an email from BMW stating the same. I am a little bemused that it took them this long to communicate what should be a routine matter not requiring more than ten minutes.

They still did not communicate what they offer!

Re: Attached: BMW's full BSI & extended warranty price list (up to 10 years / 200,000 kms)

Few interesting facts when you compare the new pricelist to the old one
  1. Prices have been increased by about 15 to 20%! It was already not making sense, now they've pushed it even higher. Wonder how much service costs have been revised? For example a BSI pack on a 320d for 5yr/60k km is priced at ₹ 2.70L. Say you service your car 5 times in this period you are paying ₹ 54k per service upfront. Wonder whether it will cost so much to service the 3 Series every 12K kms!
  2. Earlier price list had separate rate for each engine variant per model like 4 Cyl / 6 Cyl etc... New pricelist does not make this distinction
  3. Repair inclusive or extended warranty now seems to be available for different periods with only unlimited mileage option and mileage cap packs are not listed. The earlier pricelist had this. A 5 yr/60K repair inclusive pack was priced at ₹0.83L for the 3 Series. Now you get only 5yr/No limit pack priced at ₹ 1.26L.
BMW seems to be losing the plot big time. These service packs were once their USP. Looks like they are hell bent on digging their own grave by pricing it so illogically.

I tend to agree that the BSI Plus is an overpriced product in its current avatar.

As far as extended warranty (Repair Inclusive) stand alone product is concerned the price difference between 5 years and 6 years is dramatic. It gives the impression that they are not too sure of the product after five years. The only saving grace is that these don't have any mileage limit. However, unlimited mileage doesn't make much difference to most people, unless we use it as a taxi. It would be much better to put a limit of 3,00,000 km/6 years and price the extended warranty sensibly.

What riles me even more is the fact that the official BMW website provides misleading information and their support is equally clueless and slow to respond.

I think that BMW is trying to factor fall in INR currency value in the coming years. In 2015 currencies of most emerging markets have fallen sharply. Since they are being paid in INR upfront they forsee a loss if INR falls and they have to maintain the cars with imported parts that will cost more in the coming years. But then again they can convert the money they collect to USD now and sit pretty.

Since most owners in India have opted for BSI packs there is very little data on what the actual service costs are. Would love to know the typical service cost of cars like the 3/5/X1/X3 etc....

Re: Attached: BMW's full BSI & extended warranty price list (up to 10 years / 200,000 kms)

Trying to make sense of BMW's service packages & extended warranty. Thanks for all the information posted in the thread.

From June 15' service pricing list (for X5);
3 Yrs/40,000 km package was Rs.2,19,893/- with following break up;
(Basic Service : Rs.96,560/-)
Plus : Rs.1,77,396/-
Extended Warranty : Rs.42,497/-

From the latest Nov 15' service pricing list (for X5);
3yrs /40,000 km package is priced at Rs.2,04,545/- with following break up;
Service Plus at Rs.1,62,476/-
Repair at Rs.46,029/-

Is "Extended warranty in June 15'" = "Repair in Nov 15'" ?

Appreciate your input.. BMW guys at Navnit B'lore seem a bit hesitant to explain and provide the details of service packages.

Could someone help me with the pricing details of the current BSI package and extended warranty. From the above picture it shows that extended warranty starts from 3yrs but the dealership here in karnataka is charging the same amount for one year.

First Two Years are complimentary but Yes you have a point, they should write as 3rd, 4th and so on So technically Dealership is asking you correctly.

Does the pricing include GST? If not, what's the GST charged, 28%?
