Hi,
I am looking for the front speaker grille part that attaches to the doorpad for alto 800. I have bought an LXI which does not have this as standard. I have installed speakers with ugly spacers after cutting a hole in the doorpad.
Pic of the speaker grille asst attached. |

Hello Shashi!
Can you please share some information on a couple of parts that may need replacement in my Maruti. Reply in leisure as neither is an emergency:
1. Inner mirror sash-RHS- Zen VX (the one with internally adjustable hole)
2. HT leads (all 5) for old MPFI Zen-16V
Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to update this thread. I got the timing belt and clutch replacement work done at a multi-brand FNG recently, but this update is about the Timing belt related parts.
As I'd mentioned in earlier posts, I got the Tensioner Spring Damper (12823-82001) after the MGP store placed an order and it was shipped from Delhi, taking about 3 weeks.
Once the work started at the FNG, we realized that the Tensioner Spring (12821M70C00) was too big compared to what was already in the Crank case (the OEM one that the car came with). Also, this part comes with the Tensioner Spring Damper inside it and still costs just Rs.5 as compared to just the SGP Tensioner Spring Damper that costs Rs.165 :)
Anyways, since it was too long, the new spring could not be fitted. We looked up the service manual(I think I posted a picture of this in an earlier post), we saw that the diagram mentioned part # for Tensioner Spring as
12821M70C01 (notice the last 1 in place of 0), so the FNG called Essar, a MGP dealer with many outlets in Bangalore. They said they have 1 unit at the head office near Lalbagh Road. They used Dunzo to have it delivered to the FNG (after a botched first attempt, ended up taking 3+ hours!). This part was also the same size as the one I'd bought earlier, so we just removed the Damper from the old OEM spring and replaced with the new SGP Part I'd bought earlier.
The FNG guys were as surprised as me as to why this part did not match up with the existing one in the car.
Tensioner spring (old/OEM vs new) for size reference:

Hello Shashi Sir,
Can you please suggest me some good quality oil filter for WagonR(2015) VXI? Is it possible to get a wix oil filter for the K10B? If yes can you please share a link for the same?
Part No- 16510M65L10
Sorry for going a bit off topic but also I would like to share my experience with Ecstar Super Lubricant.
This is like a 30% cheaper substitute to WD-40, which works like 75% of WD-40. I've used it in our home door locks, hinges and a kitchen exhaust fan(for cleaning the gunk) and even after nearly two months I'm happy to report that this is still maintaining most of the lubrication of the locks and the hinges as they are still smooth to operate.
Part No- 99000M99178
Price- 235
Thanks.

I just had a look at the available WIX filters in India. While there are some models which will fit just fine and do the job, I'll strictly recommend against it, at least not for the K10 engines.
If you compare filters of K10(65L10) vs other Marutis(say 68K00), the ones used on K10 is of very less height. That is by design. If you use a normal filter, it will protude, and that may prove fatal if anything hits it. So my recommendation will be to use any brand of filter, as long as you are not changing the height. And unless WIX or some other good brand is available with same specs, my recommendation will be to stick with MGP.
I have seen cases where mechanics have installed longer normal filter unknowingly since it fits, and that has proven catastrophic in the longer run. Specially in Alto K10. A pic from our Official review:
Notice how low the oil filter is. This is with the smaller filter. Imagine how dangerous it will be if you add another 2-3 cm in filter length. Also using a filter longer or not designed for your engine might play havoc with oil volume, pressure etc. So better stick with MGP.
Also worth mentioning is that some K10 models use larger filter, like say the Celerio as their filter is sufficiently above the underbody. For WagonR, 65L10 is recommended.

Thanks for sharing. I've been using this since a long time and its one of the oldest accessory in the MGA range, now christened Ecstar.
Another product which is a closer alternative to WD40 is MGP's Rust Smash.

For car door hinges, you may try Hinge Wax, it works great:
Part No: 99000M24121-085
Just make sure to use this when hinges are perfectly clean.

Hello guys,
I need the part number for the Positive battery terminal of the Maruti Celerio. Mine has broken because of applying too much pressure on the clamp.
P.S - Also, the bolt through which the terminal is attached to the fuse is badly stuck:Frustrati. Any pointers to open that?
