Re: Long-term reliability of Hyundai's diesel engines

Thanks to a4anurag's post (https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...ml#post4509485 (Highest reading on the odometer!)), we now know of a Hyundai Elantra that has run 16,00,000 km in five years (yes, that is correct - sixteen lakh kilometres).

A fitting inclusion in this thread, I believe.

Re: Long-term reliability of Hyundai's diesel engines

Just another inclusion into this thread. 2.05L kms in 5 years. Still on stock clutch and suspension, engine untouched. Periodic maintainence is all that is being done.

Re: Long-term reliability of Hyundai's diesel engines

Hi,

I would not know if that 67000 kms driven Verna would still be there, I am that late to speak on this. Still, better late than never. I sold my October 2012 Hyundai diesel Verna sx (o) in November 2019 with the odo doing 1,63,000 kms. The engine was still good. Only real expenditure that incured was at 1,55,000 kms is that I had to change Turbo's core and that costed me Rs. 13,000/-. Prior to that, suspensions were changed at 1.3 lac kms and clutch plate at 1.15 lac kms (probably because of Mumbai's traffic). A small steering issue once and that is it. I think changing of oil and filters regularly can keep your car alive and kicking for 2 to 3 lakh kms easily.

Got my gtx + diesel seltos in December 2019. But I do miss that 1.6 cedi, it was a gem.
