I also own a 2002 ohc 1.3 dx dont have a covered parking. between i have a polytine car cover is that advisable to put that . will it fade the color or do some damage due to the difference in mositure . its in bangalore so intermitent rain also is there.stupid:
My car starting trouble sorted out.
Culprit - Starter Motor solenoid.
Replaced it, Damages - 800 Rs total.
OE Honda Starter motor full kit - 5000 + Rs

I think it should be ok. try parking at a spot where there is less of direct sun light.

Jump Starting is when you augment the power delivered by your battery with that on another battery. essentially you connect your batter to another battery in parallel, that way providing sufficient power to the required components to get your car started.
This will work regardless of the whether the battery is completely dead or not.
Push starting or bump starting is when you put the car in gear, press the clutch and get some dude or dudes to push the car for you. when you get the car rolling to a decent speed, turn the ignition key and release the clutch.
This will only work if your battery is not completely dead.
if the battery is completely dead, then push starting will not work
Good to know that the problem is solved and at a decent price.

Guys, need your help here, just spent a packet getting the radiator replaced - was leaking very slightly. The car is a 1.5 EXI done around 64k, also ac servicing, some door damage, various other minor things etc has cost me around 30k over the last 2-3 months. Now 2 jobs are pending, windscreen has way too many swirlies and front 2 tyres are probably around 3-5k km away. maybe less from replacement. Back tyres around 7.5k.
I travel to Pune frequently late night and just yesterday had 2 scary encounters with the car hydroplaning on the expressway. Current tyres are stock with rims. Windscreen also severely limits visibility at night. If I get both tyres, plan is to upsize to 195-60-14 and windscreen its will cost around 20-22k minimum plus alloy costs another 15k, I am frankly a bit bored of spending money on the car. Any suggestions to reduce the expense?

Shift your rear tyres to the front and change the windscreen right away(which can be covered under insurance):D.
Go for the tyres in stage 2 and finally the rims in stage 3(which can also be avoided if you like) BUT make sure you wanna go for the 14" rims later and not 15" before you buy the tyres.
you can get the wind shield polished.
there's this company "Glass Polish India". they polish windshields.
costs around 1500 bucks... don't know if the effect is any good though.

Well if you file for an insurance claim then it would cost less than 1500 for a new windscreen.
I was wondering about the polish thing, but the only thread on that here suggests that its very short term, and not very useful, the windscreen is 7k, the polish around 1500-2k so if I am going to spend it 3 months down the line inspite of the polish might was well replace the windscreen now.
Since the tyres are going to be upsized I guess I have to do them at once, maybe I delay the alloys by going for 14 rims now, and where do I source the rims, any ideas , and what's the cost? I am in Goregoan Mumbai.
Interesting video Shan2nu, since its a fwd one would think the grippier tyres should be upfront. Has ABS something to do with this?

If you are sure of going in for the 14" rims in future then i think you should be able to run 195's on your stock rims also.
The cost of the tyres and rims will depend on what you go in for.
Yoko S drives are out since you plan to go in for the 14".
@ Shan2nu: if the back wheels are more grippy, then under steering will be more of an issue than over steering [fishtailing on a turn], but also when you hit the breaks, the front wheels will tend to lock up before the back wheels, that'll affect braking. right?
Raul - u can try picking up 15" alloys from people who upgrade right away from the showroom for cars that come stock with this size.
why dont you post in the classifieds askng for 15" alloys or check the mumbai market. i dont know where but every city has those places where u get such stuff.
Raul - You can also get good used alloy wheels for approx 6K. You can also get new steel wheels, which should be approx 2k.
Would suggest 185/60/14 tyres since 195 tyres tend to sometimes rub the body when turning. Had this experience on my OHC vtec and am riding on 185 tyres now. Saifee tyres at S'cruz is good and gives genuine stuff (near Podar school). Also replace all 4 tyres at one shot.
Re the windhield, insurance will only cover the same if there has been an accident. Normal wear and tear is not covered. You can check out Windshield experts who can give you details. Cost me 7K when I replaced them a yr back.
