Hi all.
I have a VTEC whose O2 sensor gave out. Honda quoted 16K as usual. I looked around on the web and could get a part from Denso. Got a friend to carry it back from the US. Cost be about 30$. I just got it fitted this weekend and the car is working fine. The part no is 238-4099 I think. If anyone is interested I will confirm the number.

Bosch oxygen sensor fitted

Hey pals,

I mailed NTK USA and confirmed that I could fit a 4 wire sensor in place of a 2 wired one by connecting one of the two heater wires to ignition and the other to the ground.
I bought a 4 wire oxygen sensor from bosch - a universal "507" sensor and my mech fitted it for me. Job done perfectly and the car is running fine!
A special thanks to team-bhpian Badz for his helpful inputs.
cheers,
Harsha

Currently, it has a malfunctioning 2 wire sensor. Can i fit a universal 4 wire sensor with the 2 heating wires connected to the ignition? because i know that upgrading to a pre-heated 4 wire sensor will improve fuel efficiency and combustion.
I am told from the around the corner section of the forum that it would cost me Rs. 3000 approx (NTK brand).
The technical question is whether are all the oxygen sensors of the same fit and size, such that a universal sensor can do the job? or do i have to go in for something which is specifically made for a Hyundai Accent 1.5? Coz my mech says that the oxygen sensors come in a universal size and i can buy any model which preheats at 12 Volts. The universal bosch sensor in this thread seems to me like a great buy to me, provided the size etc is not an issue.
Can you please confirm this?
Thanks! I plan to get this fixed by Saturday, hence please respond ASAP. You can call me at 9900239781 if you wish!
Cheers!
Harsha

Hi people, I tried using the part numbers that i got from this thread but they all seem to be out of production or there is some clash.
Can somebody please give the part number for the O2 sensor for the OHC.
Thanks.

Hi , if you know any dealer in the used car market areas (ex- Karol Bagh - New Delhi) , they are very very resourceful , and can get you any part at very cheap prices , got my corolla's side mirrors and CRV's steering pump for 1/10th the cost , works like a charm .

I got a new 02 sensor for 2025 bucks (including taxes). So theres no point shelling out 17K at Honda. U can buy 8 sensors for the price they quote for one.

Hi friends. The O2 Sensor of my 2003 OHC AT seems to have given up [warning light on dash stays on and idling is affected] See this thread for details - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...went-down.html

Honda quoted a whopping Rs.17,000 for a new one. Luckily I chanced upon this thread!

Will this part fit on my OHC

Bosch Oxygen Sensor at BoschOxygenSensor.com: wideband o2 sensors, lambda sensors, replacement car oxygen sensors

the VTEC guy, did you buy the DENSO O2 Sensor from US or India. Can you please give the details on how to procure it in India?

Shan2nu, which brand of O2 sensor did you buy? Please Advice.

Nope, the O2 sensor comes into picture only after the engine has warmed up.

Where did you pick it up from, can you give the part number, coz spare parts-folks here can order any stuff if we give the part number.
and you bet 2025 sounds good.

@ vetc guy - did you get the denso localy? how much did it cost and where did you get it from?

I dont know the part number. I just went to the shop and asked for OHC 4 wire O2 sensor and he gave it to me. Its working perfectly.

U can take your old O2 sensor to the spare part guy and ask him if he can get it for you.

In my small town we have 2 spare part shops and they'll pick up stuff from the cities. thus the part number is imp.
but i'll try showing them the sensor... any idea what brand you got? that info will also help.
