Re: Car battery life - How long did your battery last?

My Yaris OEM exide battery went kaput on 1st July 21 after 3 years in service. Got it replaced with 45AH Amaron battery. Hope it lasts beyond 3 years. Only concern is limited usage of the car due to Covid.

Pretty similar experience here.

Got my Scorpio S10 4WD in Dec '14. Battery had not given up, but, just as part of preventive maintenance I replaced it on 1st of July '21. OE battery was Amaron black, replaced it with Amaron green.

There were absolutely no issues with the battery despite the SUV standing for better part of an year now thanks to reduced running because of Covid. I used to start the SUV [maybe] once a month.

My Maruti Suzuki Celerio stock Exide Mileage lasted around 3.5 years while the Amaron Flo battery on my humble Maruti 800 lasted 4.5 years.

Re: Car battery life - How long did your battery last?

Today changed Honda city (3rd Gen) Amaron battery 2nd time. The first OEM-Amaron battery lasted 6 years 2 months, while second one lasted 4 years 7 months. Totally satisfied with battery and car. Last couple of days, battery was discharging and needed 2nd cranking, so changed as I did not want to get stranded in signal.

Re: Car battery life - How long did your battery last?

My Maruti celerio OEM Panasonic battery lasted just for 17 months. Not sure if I have to recharge the battery and use it or get a new one.

The car has run only 3500 Kms due to less usage on account of covid.

Suggestions are welcome..

Re: Car battery life - How long did your battery last?

Replaced the Amaron 74 Ah battery in my Laura TSI after 7 years!
After 7 years it could still start the car but had become weak as per the load test!(otherwise no issues) just went ahead as I didn't want to be stranded due to it.
No prizes for guessing which one I replaced it with!

Request help on the same please.

Hi All

Today My Brother in law was forced to change the battery for his Indica v2. The old battery was an amaron black that I had purchased in November 2019. It suddenly died despite the vehicle being in regular use and despite the distilled water levels being checked regularly.

I am not sure why this happened. the battery had 18 months guarantee which expired in June 2021 and the battery died 3 days ago. Request experts to let me know if the battery died because it was a 55AH battery instead of 60AH.

Today went for amaron hi-life flo 65AH battery with 48month warranty. This time I am hoping that it lasts really long like they promise. I always thought Exide batteries from the OEM were prone to premature failing but with a brand like amaron this is surprising. Has anyone else experienced a similar case with amaron? Request inputs on this please.

So with the old battery got this one for 5500/- which was less than the price quoted by batterybhai.com so went ahead

Thanks and regards
Take care and stay safe.

Count me in. I have wifey's A-Star Automatic for which I replaced the OE battery 6.5 yrs ago. The battery is still going strong and has not shown any signs of weakening. I am in dilemma if I need to replace it considering the age or live with it till it shows the signs and symptoms. Considering the car to be an Automatic I dont want to risk it much. By the way, this is Amaron I am talking about.

Re: Car battery life - How long did your battery last?

The car came with an Exide fitted, it lasted for just over 4 years. For a few months it had been giving occasional problems while starting the car. The ASC checked and advised to replace the same.

Went with Amaron since the life was longer than Exide in my bike. Amaron lasted 7 years, while Exide for 5. Both brand batteries did not give any other issues while they lasted.

Re: Car battery life - How long did your battery last?

My stock Astar AT battery lasted for eight and a half years. One fine day the car would not start (thankfully at home) and I gave the battery to a local shop for a recharge. After recharging the car started normally however after load testing during self start, according to the shopkeeper the voltage was dropping below recommended levels so I decided to go ahead and replace it, not wanting to be stranded since ATs cannot be push started.

Mine is a Diesel engine and my car's battery always consistently lasted up to 3.5 years and then it becomes difficult to crank the engine.

Re: Car battery life - How long did your battery last?

Got my Brezza's OEM battery changed last month after 5 and half years. The old battery, Exide was showing signs of giving way, cranking was taking little longer plus the HIDs were not lighting up at start up. It would light up after about 10 minutes of starting up. Changed to Exide with 66 months warranty/coverage plan.

Yesterday, my Wagon R just refused to start at a place where my wife had taken it. I went there and checked and saw that dashboard lights were flickering and it wasn't cranking. Called the same battery guy and got Amaron Powerzone battery. This battery lasted exactly 5 years, last one was purchased on 4th December 2016.

Replaced it with an Amaron Flo with 48 months warranty for INR 3,300 after a buyback of INR 200 for the old battery.
The Amaron Flo I installed little over 6 years ago is now slowly showing signs of losing power. I'm not complaining about the service life given that I had no issues over the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021. Last year, I charged the battery once at home with the Bosh C3 charger.

At the recent service of the Brio, the SA mentioned that the battery was weak and as long as I drive the car regularly, it will be okay. I let the car sit idle for 48 hours and checked the charge today with a DMM and it ready 12.22 V - which shows approx 50% SoC.

Since I have a Bosch C3 charger, I have connected the battery to the charger and will give it a charge and see how the static charge holds up. I'm likely to replace the battery soon.

With an upcoming long drive this week, I decided to replace the battery today. Went to a neighborhood battery shop and got the same model Amaron Flo 35 Ah-42B20L with a mfg date of April 2022. Paid ₹3,800 including the exchange of the old battery. Checked the idling voltage of the alternator and it was 14.5 V and static battery voltage after removing the surface charge was 12.55 V.

The old battery was of the same spec but the warranty was 48 months.

The warranty on the new battery has been increased to 55 months (0-30 months free replacement and 31-55 months pro-rata discount on MRP)

My experience with Amaron over the past 15+ years has been great. The build quality has been great, I've never once had a warranty claim nor have I had trouble of leaking from any Amaron battery. This is truly a fit-it-and-forget-about-it battery albeit a quick proactive check of the water levels once every 6 months.

Re: Car battery life - How long did your battery last?

Experts,
Finally, old sparring partner gave up after 9 years (June 2013 to Aug 2022).
Please help me to decode the code written on it.

65D26RMF.
What I understood is the first written ‘65’ denotes the Amp and the last ‘MF’ denotes the Maintenance Free.
What is meant by ‘D’, ‘26’ and ‘R’?
