Having being spent a couple of lakhs on restoration of Indica/Indigo's I say a big NO on spending 50K for restoration of this car. Indica's and Indigo's are troublesome even after restoration, one or the other part will keep on failing every now and then. This has been my experience of owing and restoring 1 Indica and 1 Indigo.

My advice is to sell this car, add some money and buy another vehicle.

If you are going to drive a lot, then suggest to get another car. You will spend more now, but you should get a more reliable car than this.

Honestly, you should not have gone for a car that has been sitting idle. Even a used Vista is available in the range of 1.5-1.75L.

TATA Indigo and TATA Xeta Suck big time.. No matter how much money you put in, you'll be always 'mechanic-friendly'. This comes from a person who's driven TATA Indica V2 to Indigo to Manza for 14 long and crucial years.
