Honda City is still the best Petrol car in the segment. It is a very well rounded package, the resale value will also be pretty good. Plus it is a Honda so the A.S.S. is nearly the best out there.

But keep in mind, U sure you can put up with a Petrol car after using a Diesel after all these years. You might end up keeping the bigger petrol car for rare occasions only. Nobody I know has been able to agree going back to Petrol after once they've owned a Diesel

Yes the car value & hence the IDV will reduce every year, depending upon the percentage depreciation applied. What a zero % depreciation policy means that if ever you have to claim insurance, then the plastic parts, glass parts (& not just the metallic parts/components) would be paid in full. Normally insurance companies pay only half the value of the plastic parts.

Honestly, in the present suspension and steering setup, the engine makes more than enough BHP for the car to handle.
If you were to take my suggestion, I think spending on a tuning box is not vfm. Instead you should think about getting a better suspension setup or maybe better rubber.

Hello folks..very excited on my first ever post in the forum.
I ve been contemplating on writing an ownership report(on my brand new Fluidic Verna) for a while now but after going through this exhaustive 128 pages filled with insightful, friendly and constructive contributions I have nothing but my personal opinions and experiences to share. So i thought of giving those instant tid-bits before sitting down to give a comprehensive write up on the whole experience of buying and the initial ownership.


After going through the expert opinions expressed in this forum from our selfless pals, I blindly went for a Tyre upgrade because thats one thing I was very particular about as Comfort, Noise and Ride were high on my priority and given the fact that Tyres would munch anywhere between 40K - 50K kms before wearing out.
Drove straight to a Michelin dealer here in Hyderabad after extensive negotiations over the phone scouting for the best deal(JustDial) the day before taking the delivery.
Michelin Primacy LC 205/55 R16 it is!
I ll have to say it was a good bargain. Rs.17500 net for 5 tyres and Rs.600 for Nitrogen, Wheel alignment and Balancing. More on that later..

Overall, my first impressions of the car are fairly positive with no serious complaints so far with the exception of the stock headbulbs which are rubbish. It wouldnt be an exaggeration if i say that its virtually blindfolded driving in pitch dark coupled with oncoming glare of those high beams. Please suggest me what to go for. Is it the bulbs or reflectors? I wouldnt mind spending a decent sum keeping the warranty intact to the most possible extent.

I would come up with a comprehensive ownership write up soon..

I was under the impression that a 0 depreciation policy implies that the metal parts in your car, which normally depreciates by 10%/20%/30% etc. with every passing year, would be covered in full in such a policy. I say this because I had a situation where a part of the engine block for my car had to be changed, and since it was more than 4 years old, I had to pay 30% of the cost, while the insurance company bore 70%. I think that is what a 0 depreciation insurance means. The depreciation % per year has been specified by the government.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have faced the same problem due to replacement of my headlights with higher watt bulbs. During the installation they had to cut the plastic cap to accomodate the extra wiring harness. Water used to go in during washing. I had to close the gaps to avoid the misting.

Please try checking it once.

could you please tell what higher wattage bulbs did you go for and where did you get it done in Hyd?
Would that void the warranty as higher wattage needs relay harness to be deployed?
Can the bulbs be replaced without making any cuts or damage to the reflectors as a consequence of higher wattage bulbs?

Welcome to the forum mate. I had upgraded to 100/90 R Philips without relays for few months, later changed to Osram NB + which do not require any other modifications. I must say that Osram NB+ is better than stock, but Philips 100/90 was better.

I would be goin for a quick fix in the form of Osram NB+/Philips 100/90.Eventually i ll need a much better set up adding to the oomph factor. Probably Xenons/Projectors if they really are worth their value.

You paid for the depreciation. If you had zero dep policy, the insurance company would have paid 100% and you none.

Yes. So my assumption is correct. 0 depreciation is about avoiding the depreciating cost of metal components, and thus getting the entire amount from the insurance company. It is not about being paid only 50% of the cost of non-metal parts such as plastics and glass, which I believe is applicable also for 0 depreciation policies. Thanks.

Folks, considering that it's 2 years since the Verna Fluidic launch do you think there would be a face-lift or an improved version launched sometime soon? Am in the market looking for a replacement for my Fiesta 1.6S and don't mind waiting for a few more months.

I may be off topic. I am sure yo have test driven the fluidic verna. After owning a fiesta, are you ok to own a verna (fluidic) considering the ground clearance and suspension?

I own a fluidic since July 2011, hence the question .
