New generation both Swift and Dzire will get an all new body and a new engine at the heart.

Apart from Swift, Dzire, Ertiga too will get a mid-cycle facelift with new engine options. The new generations of the premium hatchback and compact sedan codenamed YSD are likely to hit the market in FY-18 with an annual potential of 4.5 lakh units.

Swift and Dzire will get a major makeover to its exterior. Apart from this the Duo will get Suzuki's own 1.5 Diesel engine (codenamed E15A) .

Yes I could hear noise when going over rough roads. It was identified as a underbody hit and rectified. Its been running well post that

I have doubts on Swift VDI brakes and looking for some answers from experts.

GTO reviewed the Swift on 2011. He mentions that Swift L and V variants are not having adequate brakes except the Z variants. Is this the same with the current model ?

Please advise.

On another note, which one is better ?

ABS less Figo Trend variant or Swift VDI. Reviewers mentions that Figo brakes are good but does not seem to have stability from high speed. Sadly it does not have ABS in Trend Variant.

On the other hand, Swift VDI has ABS but the brakes are poor (not sure what it has now).

Can't remember where but, there was a talk about MSIL giving AMT in all its cars starting this year. Haven't seen any progress on that yet. Even the Ertiga facelift coming up shortly is rumored to have conventional AT. Will the launches of 2017 have an AMT perhaps?

Hi Friends,

One of my friend owns a Swift Vdi 2014 model. He is facing an engine switch off issue when he takes the car on a long drive. Post 150 kms or so the engine switches off and never starts again. It takes at least 6-7 hours for the engine to restart. This has occurred thrice.

There is no resolution to the issue even after complaining with one of the MASS in Bangalore.

Can someone guide as to what exactly is the technical issue?

Has the car been scanned using OBDII reader by MASS?

Is the car running normally otherwise? Any warming on instrumentation console?

Yes the car was scanned with OBDII machine. There was no issue noticed during the observation in a 300 km range conducted by RNS motors.

He is unable to replicate the issue now which he faced thrice previously.

Where is the brake-fluid tank for a Swift Petrol ? The car in question is an OLD one- may be 12 or more. I see the power-steering (?), windshield & coolant tanks. The tank for power-steering fluid (?) is on the firewall right in front of the driver, and cap of the tank says something about brake-fluid.

Or does this model of Swift not have power-steering ? Is this tank the container for brake-fluid ?

Note:
searching for this to try & find the cause of bad brakes. The brakes seem non-existant. Also, the car is not being used - hence no question of driving without brakes.
