Have you checked philips extreme vision?

And what about osram?how do they compare with philips?

Cheers.
Hi Aniket. I thought the challenge in the visibility during the rains was more in the bluevision, while crystal vision was OK. Will chek again. Not sure if extreme vision is available in the same wattage - I think they are higher wattage ones & will need relays.

There have been mixed reviews of Osram NB. But most people seem to agree that they do not offer enough for the money.

Ok do check and let me know.

I have confirmed from B.U Bhandari that even changing the bulbs with any other company's 55Ws will also void the warranty

Cheers.

Hi F150 how are things going for you. Are you back in country?

Had been on extensive travel by the other kind of jets & hence not much travel on terra firma.

No plans for a remap or any other major mods yet - waiting for the warranty to be over for any changes.

I am fairly satisfied with the power & torque delivered by the Jet - though more is always welcome

Yes I came back in the third week of July.
Since you too have been traveling, did you find any good cosmetic upgrades for the jet ?
So your jet has a 2+2 years warranty right ?

To be honest no focus at all over past many months as there has been a lot happening on the family front. It has been essentially a "fill it, shut it forget it" kind of a fuss free experience with the Jet.

Yes I do have 2 yrs extended warranty.

Am driving down to Goa coming weekend, will update more once I am back.

Hi Vkaul,

Can you please let me know the insurance premium you have been paying for the jetta for the 2nd and 3rd years ??

I wanted to know how much would the Zero dep, bumper to bumper insurance cost for the second year. Usually there would be a 10% decrease in the total insurance cost which incase the insurance has not been claimed. Just wanted to confirm the same

Do let me know whatever you decide to go with - if the latter, we can sync up & get it done together
Hi Vkaul, I personally will not recommend both philips crystal vision and diamond vision. I swapped my Jetta's low beam with H7 Diamond Vision. That's the worst decision I took. Vision is very poor and I could not see properly.
Just to compare yellow and white light I changed low beam alone. Yellow light is way way better than white.
I would advice you to stick with yellow light. Philips extreme vision will produce better light I suppose. Now am thinking of changing both low and high beam with extreme vision.

Hi,

I paid INR 40311 for the second year to National Insurance. This was for a comprehensive zero dep cover.

Thanks for the inputs. Aren't the Extreme Visions higher wattage bulbs & would require relays & hence void the warranty?

Also wondering that most of the high end cars (especially their top of the line variants) come with "white lights" (xenon) headlamps. If the visibility is taking such a bad hit, why would it be positioned so?

Re: Jet Set Go !! - Volkswagen Jetta Highline AT *UPDATE* 1 year and 1st Service done

Just came back from a couple of weeks long trip. As I engaged the reverse gear, rather than seeing & hearing the parking sensors, nothing came up on the screen & instead of the audible sensor warning, there was just a single long high pitched beep with the flashing parking sensor button. Looks like the sensors have malfunctioned.
Hope it is only a minor glitch.

Also the second service is due & when I called up to book the same, looks like there is no slot available till mid of Nov

Did you try again later on. Many a times some features conk off and once you switch off & restart the car, they are back to normal like nothing happened. Try it.

Same here in Navi Mumbai at AutoBahn Motors, Nerul. Last time I checked there was a 21 days to month long wait for getting service done. But if you have any emergency they certainly will attain the car on priority basis.

Given there is only workshop for whole of Navi Mumbai, AutoBahn is making a killing. It seems, same is going on at Pune.

No such luck with the sensors coming back online. Have been using it for a week since then & the problem is persisting. Have noted it as a TO DO during the service.

There are 2 centers in Pune & both seem to running fairly full.

Re: Jet Set Go !! - Volkswagen Jetta Highline AT *UPDATE* 2 year and 2nd Service done

The Black Pearl just came back from the second service @ 23914. The total damage - INR 10435 which was lower than the 12500+taxes estimate given earlier.

The A/C cooling had been slightly off but with the filter change, it is a perceptible change for the good.

The sensors issue still not resolved. They have identified the buzzer to be the problem & have ordered for a replacement part, which should come in a week.

One issue that I realized (which I had observed earlier with Ayedongiveadam's car as well) was the air volume difference between the driver & front passenger side A/c vents - significantly lower air throw for the passenger side. I have noted the same with the service supervisor & asked them to fix it in the next visit (once the buzzer is received).
