They lost me too.
The Safari got sold and I was without a car. Both Tata dealers in my city were non committal on a launch date. So Innova it had to be - a hesitant choice when made. But equally hesitatingly, am starting to think why did I not look at an Innova earlier, after all it has been here for the last 6 years.

I am feeling like a deserter, but I may just become a vocal proponent of a Toyota now. Because the experience so far, right from the time of booking to the actual ownership has been just so very different from what I have experienced any time earlier and in the nicest of ways.

Sorry for the OT in the last bit.

I would like to see your "Innova" thread, in specific "the driving comparison" b/w the Safari and the Innova.

Reason I am asking is that I didn't like EVEN the ARIA drive for 2 days, after driving Safari for 2+ years and am sure, Innova would hate me more

Prem.

The biggest feature of the new storme is the Rack and Pinion steering, and the new chassis. Everything else is old wine in new bottle.
I thought they were also putting in new McPherson suspension bits in the front and back ? Disk brakes all round ?

To my certain knowledge the engine power output of Safari Storme has been increased to 150 PS .

If so, it would be interesting since the gear box also will have to withstand that power... I remember reading elsewhere that in ARIA they did not up the power since the gearbox can't handle the increase power, even though the engine is capable of producing more than 140 bhp

Thanks Kdeepakk. Where are the pics from the service manual. Please upload them. Any Idea about the expected launch date, price and whether the present Safari will continue or will get replaced completely.

Well, at least from these pics, it seems like only the Vx & Vxp will have 4x4. I'd seriously thought that TML would pull a rabbit out of the hat at the last moment and offer 4x4 right from the base variant. That would have been a really pleasant surprise.

Cheers,
Vikram

It still has a single din CD player!!
Wonder what changes they have done to the interiors (aesthetics) except chrome finish, was hoping for a redesigned layout with two din player and better controls for the AC.

I think for that reason the final drive ratio changed to 3.73 from 4.1 .My information is based on input by a friend working with Tata.

4x4 only in Vx. Looks like Tata wants to drive away customers. Who needs competition, when Tata themselves are so successful in driving away customers.

Thanks deepak!

Power reduced? Similar to current version then? And its not getting the dual mass flywheel ( which has issues as per tsk's post} ?

And why a reduce in power when people were saying it will get more? Incapable gearbox?

Looks so, sadly. I guess they are ok with current sales figures and maybe some dude at Tata would have said that adding 4x4 to LX wont help and that let MM get that share too.

Now, lets wait for the price part. Do surprise us again please !
