I am really not sure why that is, the reason what i got is that the jazz production itself is a rarest thing and discounts are far away even from thinking. The SRep so interested in selling me city top end (He was saying that there is hardly any production of City base version car) or else otherwise Brio. but when i strictly said i want jazz then also he started forcing me to buy jazz select. But i stuck to Jazz X and I donot regret it in anyway (No discounts, not a problem).
People stay tuned the next updates with details of second service and probably with lots of pictures from my Sony Cybershot.

Thanks have a nice weekend filled with lots of driving!

Because they are least interested in selling it! My sales contact is tired of me. Whenever he calls touting the Brio, I ask him about Jazz offers. Needless to say, they have NO offer on the Jazz at all.

Congratulations on your new acquisition. Looks absolutely stunning. This is the roomiest hatch available.

I beg to differ here. The car looks great from all the angles but the side one looks absolutely brilliant with that aerodynamic design. It looks like "hot wheels" cars which I used to play with when I was a kid.

Honda is completely neglecting this hot hatch. As I have already reported in the forum earlier, we visited Dakshin Honda 2 weeks back but the sales guy was only interested in selling City and Brio. I had to literally beg him to explain about Jazz. This pathetic behavior has made my parents think that there is something wrong with the Jazz and has made their decision drift towards the Brio. We are again visiting Dakshin Honda tomorrow for another TD of Jazz and Brio. I loved the performance of both Jazz and Brio but I'm completely sold to the looks of Jazz whereas my parents liked Brio.

Congratulations buddy! Enjoy Shadowfax!

You mentioned you replaced parking lights with LED's. Is it allowable under warranty?
How much did they cost and can you please suggest some good brands and other details?

Totally agree. Infact, I love the car from all angles.
From the sides the aerodynamic design looks amazing and it does make a few heads turn around!

You could/should have bargained for Michelin tyres from Honda itself. When my friend bought the Jazz Select sometime last year, the Michelin tyres in the showroom was one of the things that had attracted him to the car the most. We categorically told the SR that the deal is on only if it comes with Michelins

I did the same thing and my Jazz was delivered with Michelins!

Re: My Shadowfax - 2012 Honda Jazz Ownership Review

quick update from Magnum Honda service centre, gave the car for service at 9am and still waiting to take delivery, everything is good except the a-pillar side noise is not fixed! And the service guy said he couldnt fix it (reason? I know, they haven't touched it at all!) so got in touch with the assistant service manager, now he has taken the car inside saying they will try to fix it. The bill amount is a whooping 1660rs for which was supposed to be a free service! (typing out through mobile hope no font issues)

Re: My Shadowfax - 2012 Honda Jazz Ownership Review

Congrats Jazzper. Jazz is a lovely car. In-fact there is a lot common between you and me. I also purchased a used 2007 Verna CRDi. Have recently sold it due to almost similar reasons as yours, i.e. limited running of 600 - 800 kms a month. Recent service bill of Verna was Rs. 37,000 ( Clutch Rs. 12K, Suspension - Rs. 18K and miscellaneous other charges). However in spite of this, I suffered a failed Turbo Charger and decided to put an end to it and cut my losses. (Detailed review coming up soon).

I also looked at both City and Jazz. However, I have chosen to stick with city since during TD I found Jazz to scrape its underbelly whereas City just refused to touch the ground. Will be taking delivery of my city within 3 - 4 days.

Can you provide a breakup of service done? Was there a oil change?

Ya thats not just for Jazz. Its even true for 2 wheelers where they charge for Engine oil!!! btw is the engine oil cost 1660 Rs?I thought it was supposed to be 1200 or so!
and i checked my car for the rattles. I didnt find any. I think its a one off thing in your car. My car hardly makes any noise(including the engine) lol

I am sure if you take your car with these lights to claim warranty, they will raise a issue(Even though it wouldnt cause any problem). So the best thing is to keep the original ones and if at all (if at all) there is a problem with your car and you want to claim warranty then replace them with originals! BTW there are no perticular brand as such, you can find many in ebay also my friend who owns 'Car culture' accessories shop has many of them. I have never heard of any philips or such brands making LED parking lights!

Yes Low clearance is a serious problem in Jazz, I have already scratched underbody 'n' number of times, hope nothing serious has happened.

For detailed explanation of second service please wait till evening, Stuck with lot of work.

Second Service Details in Page 4

Here we go as promised 2nd service details:

Brief:
One direct suggestion to all, if you want to have your car serviced properly then please avoid this service advisor named 'Krishnappa'. Lack of knowledge, Lack of interest, No 'lets find issue - lets fix issue' attitude, all he wants to do is complete maximum number of cars in a day earn some money and go home. I heard him saying to his colleague that he had taken 13 cars for Saturday, how can someone supervise servicing of 13 cars in half a day unless you are not delivering what is required?!

On the other hand the assistant service manager 'Ashwin' was simply amazing, he knew what he is doing exactly, he has knowledge and interest in delivering excellency. Only with his help was i able to get the roof side rattling noise fixed.

Detailed:
Reached magnum honda by 9:20AM, after making me wait for a while, this guy named Krishnappa attends me, As i started explaining to him the complaints i felt that he is not at all interested in noting them down, All the time he was looking for scratches and if any dents on the car (even though there were none). I had to literally force him to write down the complaints/issues i had with the car. I asked him to clean the engine bay as it had got dirty due to recent heavy rains, he says it will be cleaned if only i take the Engine motor care package! OK i agreed. Then i asked him to clean the front passenger seat as it had got dirty a little bit, he says it will be done only if i take the complete cleaning package of 1500rs or else otherwise only body washing and vacuuming interiors! I said no thankyou. All this not even for 10mins that too due to my force, he was in a hurry to run back and finally he said car will be ready by 4pm! *Shocked* I asked him why so late, he said since there are lot of complaints a lot of work needs to be done, oh! I thought probably he is saying the truth and that he might sincerely work on my car. (meanwhile spoke to 'Mouli' the accessories guy and asked him to fit the X-kit onto my car once servicing is done, He agreed)

At 2.30PM i get a call from Krishnappa saying that car has been serviced and i can collect it, I asked him whether all the issues have been fixed and he said yes. As i reached magnum honda by 3.30PM he came to me and gave me a lame reason saying that they had already serviced the car but due to rain it got dirty and so they are washing it again so asked me to wait for 10 minutes, OK. After a while i got curious and went back there where all the servicing and all is done only to get shocked further, car has just come out of the washing bay and there are people working on my car, one is cleaning the exterior, one is vacuuming interiors other one applying polish here and there! Engine bay is also completely dirty that is they haven't touched it at all, I went and started the car and it was pretty smooth than before so figured out that only one thing has been done so far which is oil change. And this guy is nowhere to be found to ask why nothing has been done so far! I came back front *still searching* and after 10minutes he shows up and says everything is fixed and that now car has been sent to fix the X-kit and gave me the bill and escaped! I thought it might have been fixed (Like Rattling noises and all), but after reading the bill i was sure that nothing would have been fixed (that's how the bill was prepared, see below. I complained about something and he has written something else in his own words!)

My Shadowfax - 2012 Honda Jazz Ownership Review-bill_1.jpg

My Shadowfax - 2012 Honda Jazz Ownership Review-bill_2-.jpg

Point-1: Engine oil Change
Probably this is the only thing which has been done without any hazzle, which contains only oil change i guess.

Point-2: Rattling noise from Rear
I dint concentrate much on this and thought it would have been fixed, but soon i realized while driving back home that the noise is still there and when i reached home i checked the magic seats hooks and *tadaa*, last time these hooks were taped with some blue color tape and greased, this time they have removed that and have taped with some black color tape and greased. (And check what the solution provided he has written) Confirming to this is another incident, when i was there another customer (Titanium Jazz owner - 10 days old) came to this very same guy with complaint of rattling noise from rear, at first he absolutely refused to look into his car saying 'today full busy sir', but after lot of fight he took his car inside *as we watch from the customer lounge* a guy comes with electric tape lowers the seats and next you all know what he does! Man these people are blindly following whatever is laid down by others. My car was not even driven 1KM after giving to service, that means they have not even tried to figure out what are the problems in it.

Point-3: Rattling noise from glove box
I don't even remember saying this to him, and don't know what they have fixed! There was no noise before and there is none now.

Point-4: Roof side noise near Right hand side A-Pillar
Here is the actual deal. See what he has written and the solution provided! After reading this i was convinced that nothing would have been done so forced him to sit with me and went for a drive inside the showroom itself and there was noise and asked him why nothing has been done and what is the solution he has provided in the sheet and asked him to fix it now. He refuses to fix the noise saying that it is a lengthy process that they have to remove the roof and all and then check for it and so it might take more than one day! Now i was completely angry i said i wanted to meet the manager and after few debates he asks the telephone girl there to introduce me to manager and leaves! After a little wait assistant service manager 'Ashwin' came and we went out for a test drive, he checked it by driving in few rough roads and he was convinced that there is rattling noise. We came back he asked me to wait in CL, took the car backside. After a few minutes he returned saying the issue has been fixed, we took a drive inside the showroom and there is no rattling noise. I thanked him and took his visiting card hoping in future i may face similar situations.

Point-5: Engine motor care (paid 450 rupees)
There was drama for this also, when i had gone near the wash station and my car was getting cleaned, vacuumed etc I saw some guy spraying some white liquid into the engine bay (probably some soap water). After the service and fixing of x-kit the service advisor brings the car to me and when i checked the engine bay it is still in the same state where i can see droplets of white liquid and still dirty same as it was before. I ask him why it isn't cleaned and he said it is done sir, Engine motor care means spraying of that liquid and that is all! Oh my god! I asked him why 450 rupees then? he says that the liquid is costly some 2000rupees and spraying is all that is done in engine motor care! well after a debate on that too, he asked me to wait inside and took car backside and just after 5 minutes returns back, Now i don't see the droplets but someone has wiped few parts and it looks little bit clean only on the top whereas there is still lot of dirt below. Well i was embarrassed and did not want to get into an argument with this guy again. I am never getting this service done again from them, Infact if this kind of servicing continues in 3rd service also then i might look for a private station for paid services.

Point-6: Seat belt holder noise
Nothing has been done to this, the noise is still there and as the solution he has provided i don't see any screws or nuts so that he can tighten them.

Point-7: Left hand front door does not close properly
Nothing has been done, even after servicing the door does not close properly until unless i exert a lot of force. I complained this to Ashwin, and this guy actually told me why this happens. If we have closed all the doors and only trying to close the final door(in my case FLH door, and he said it might be any one of the doors like that not sure if there is an actual solution for that) it does not close properly due to the air trapped inside. Lower any one of the window just a little bit and then try to close it, it closes properly even with very little force. So for all those who had complained about doors not being closed properly here is the actual reason and seems very valid. And now our Hero Mr.Krishnappa seems to have fixed that as well. *LOL*

Plus points of the 2nd service:
>The engine has become much smoother due to oil change, NVH levels have reduced further and drive is simply pleasant but only one loss is that the roar of the engine at higher rpm has come down a little bit!
>Was able to fix the roof side rattling noise, probably once and for all.
>Got the X-kit fitted aswell when there was little time in between.
>Came to know about out Hero Mr.Krishnappa, Never am going to this guy again. And the Knowledgeable and interested chap Mr.Ashwin.

And one final point, they have done one last provoking thing. They had removed the teambhp sticker on number plate and put magnum honda sticker! If only i had noticed this then and there they would have had a bad time. Anyways i will again carve out this magnum honda sticker again and next time give them a strict warning not to stick it back.

And as for the pictures, I have taken a lot and need to resize them, probably will do and upload by evening.

Thanks
Ekz

Points 2,6 and 7 dont seem to be in my car.. last 2 drives i have switched off the music and tried to listen for rattles. There was none i could make out.

Jazzper, Thank you for the warning. My car is due for servicing next week. I could use these tips. and ya no way i am getting this Engine motor care done.

Last time i gave servicing some goof had come(need to check if it was this guy). He did clutch bleeding or claimed to have done so when i told him that first gear was too short for my liking and i would like it to be more smooth and long. Now the reverse has happened and its even more short and rough! maybe i should have kept my mouth shut

I could do with your contact number . We could share notes on our experiences with Magnum Honda and the various do's and dont's(mostly dont's) .lol

Last filling of petrol for Rupees 2000 (Shell normal unleaded) had given me a total mileage of 340KMs, which includes highway driving for around 70KMs. Considering a total of 25 Litres i have got an average mileage of 13.6KMPL. This was before 2nd service(oil change). Now i have again filled with 2000 Rupees of petrol, will check the total mileage and report here once done.

Thanks
Ekz
