Hi Frank,
A little off topic but wanted to know when you installed your GTi steering was is just plug n play or did you have to do some VCDS coding?

Plug and play, sir. Mind you, it's the non cruise control model. So everything was just plug and play. For cruise control to work from the steering wheel you may need intervention from Vcds or maybe even more than that.

The Illumination mods are as follows
1. Eagle Eyes Headlights, made in Taiwan: These are quad projector headlights of decent quality and have good road lighting if you get them aimed well.
2. Low beam houses Morimoto H7 55w HID Kit @4200k and High beam houses Osram Nightbreaker ULtimate Halogens
3. A new update is TOP notch Cree 55w LEDs on each side in the fogs. I will take some photos and upload them here. They are WAY better than the stock bulbs in the fogs and are plug and play. Highly recommended

Hi Frank did you see the new LED headlamps on the Vento highline plus? Do you think it would fit the Polo TSI? Also your thoughts on it?

There's someone on the forum who is fitting these soon.
I won't reveal his name, cos he's put in a lot of effort and he'd rather reveal the details on his thread.

PS: it's EXPENSIVE!

PPS: it's doable. Hence the answer is, yes!

Hi Frank
Any new updates, service costs and what about the craving for a used Laura?
Any dyno readings available for the car in its current state of tune?

Hi Frank my TSi is just over a month old and I have noticed a very peculiar thing. Sometimes when I turn the ignition to start it doesn't do anything and behaves like the battery is dead and I have to turn it off and try again and it works fine. Did you ever have this issue?

Though I will leave this for Frank to answer, but I believe this could be a case of missed 'self'. I don't know why it happens but it should not happen on a month's old car.

Hi Frankmehta,

I keep coming back to your page as I love reading all the beautiful things you have done to your beautiful car ! I have a GT too and was planning to start with some of what you have done. I wanted to check with you how has been your experience with the head unit you bought from Aliexpress. Specifically :

1. Did it come to you seamlessly (any customs hold ups?)
2. Any special instructions to the seller before he shipped regarding the model, any other customisations or parts you ordered additionally to make it work here?
3. How has been the experience with the HU so far? Performing as expected ? Any issues faced?
4. Did it integrate well with your GTI steering as I have a GTI steering too.

Thanks for your help with this

Praveen

re: Frankmehta's VW Polo GT TSI! EDIT: Sold!

Hi Frank,
I am new to Team-bhp and a proud owner of White GT TSi. I followed your post and the stuff you have done are amazing. I am waiting for your update on the downpipe and some help because I am planning on upgrading my exhaust. I don't want a noisy one just doing it for performance. I already have a Quantum Tuning stage 1 remap in place with a BMC DIA installed. After the exhaust installation should the remap also be tweaked for the same?

Waiting for a reply from anyone familiar with this thank you.

re: Frankmehta's VW Polo GT TSI! EDIT: Sold!

Hey Frank, i got my GT TSI this week and went over to fellow BHpian Newtonmeter to get some vcds mods done. He has vcds cable 12.x and when he hooked up, he was able to scan the car and get the car info. But as soon as he tried to get into the intrumentations menu, error popped up - Unsupported Vehicle.
He tried to load some 15.xx files and try again, still same error.

Can you please advise, is this due to an old cable and i need the latest cable?
