Hey Badri, thanks for the link. So i was right from the beginning that CRDI does it in 12.x secs.

I think the Verna CRDi is a supremely quick car, as long as the axel stays on.

Mine is still fixed onto the underbody, dont wanna see the day when it gets unstucklol:

For all those cribbing about lack of torque in Petrol engines and lack of in gear acceleration in comparison to equal capacity diesel engines go through the links.

The 2007 Mazda CX-7
The :Cheering:AUDI has just 2 liters of displacement.

Bye and wear your seat belts.

Short and long gear ratios also contribute to in gear acceleration.

What we misunderstand as great pick up is 0-100 achieved in 2nd or 3rd gear. But many magazines give different figures for acceleration and some mags completely ignore them.

i get a mileage of around 19 kms during a 700kms long drive with AC on more than half the time. I didnt go above 100kms on the speedo. My car has now done 3000kms.

Tell me one thing guys. I had read about Sam's car having problems with axle etc. Did anyone have any other similar problems like this or was it a ' One Off Insstance ' with Sams Verna. Let me know.

I am seriously debating of going for a Optra Magnum ' Mid Variant Model ' or Hyundai Verna CRDi Top End with alloys etc. Difference is about 1.2 Lacs here between the two. I really think Magnum is a segment apart ( bigger in size, ) but then as you can see from my signature, I am a Hyundai Lover so the loyalty part inclines me decision towards Verna. Lets see. Cheers !!!

I have driven about 3000kms, so far i havent got any problems with my car other than some difficulty in engaging reverse gear at times. Btw, Verna Crdi top end model(SX) doesnt come factory fitted with alloys.

i havent done a TD on Magnum, so i cant give my opinion. I simply love the car. I just feel hyundai should have given airbags for this beast, atleast as an option if not standard.

guys,i havent got it above 16kmpl,once i got around 19 thats it.but the power is too good that almost all the cars looks as if they are stand still.my verna has done 17000 km till date and no issues till dATE .

RAM

Almost All The Diesels Have Smoke Comming Out I Have Seen It On Indica, fiesta, merc, accent Crdi, and My Verna.so I Hope There Is Nothing Wrong In It Or You Have To Have An Additional Reservoir To Store The Smoke.its A Bi-product In The Whole Combustion Process And Has To Go Out.

Ram

why do diesel vehicals give out black smoke ? - simply it is nothing but the soot that has been accumulated over time in the exhaust system which is being thrown out when you rev hard.

black smoke is emitted when unburnt fuel ( diesel ) which comes out as smoke. When complete combustion takes place there will be almost invisible emission taking place. when you give a gradual throttle you will not get any black smoke in a good engine but a new engine when hard pressed it emits black smoke due to non combustion of excess fuel in the cumbustion chamber. The soot or carbon in the silencer gets accumulated by this process.

Verna has a pretty good A/C. The outside temp in trivandrum is not very high may be thats the reason it starts freezing inside too soon.

Do u have climate control?
