sam... can u tell me how long they take to deliver the vehicle after booking.? im planning to buy sx..

They asked for a week here too. SX seems to be the best option, an option I did not have at the time of my purchase.

Basically, it is a Xi, in diesel. Difference being arm rest (hmm..ok), woodtrim (hmmm... dont care) and 3 rear adjustable headrests. Now there's the thing i need.

@drsvijay : Waiting for the SX4 is fine, but it being a Maruti expect huge waiting periods (which has become fashionable for them now).

@benbsb29 - I think ur confused here , teh SX4 is a Maruti , but the orignial request from @drsvijay was for info with respect to the new Hyundai Verna CRDi SX which is expected to be released by May '07.

@drsvijay - Waiting periods for vehicles vary as @Sam pointed out , one family friend of mine book a Verna Crdi from Trivandum, Hilton Hyundai with Full down payment and has not yet got the vehicle after about two months and now the matter is with the consumer court. I got delivery of the vehicle in under a week , it all depends on how you deal with the dealer !

As for the car i have driven the car for about 9300 Kms now (due for second service in another 700 Kms) without a single hitch , yes she handles a lot like a boat but you get used to it after a while and then you're ready to take on the Power she will give you in plenty, while being miserly on the FE part. The VFM part if the selling point for tihs vehicle , and she delivers a killer surge of power once the turbo kicks in beyond 1800 RPM.

Hellstar, I know very well that the SX4 is a Maruti, and i am also eagerly awaiting its launch. Why i mentioned the waiting periods here is because drsvijay also expressed his concern over the same.

Hope it has been laid to rest now.

thanx for the correction.. im a newbie here...

My car emits smoke a lot. Not sure what the problem is. Went to Hyundai service center they cleaned the air filter. But the problem is still there. Any one else facing same problem? Please share what was the response of Hyundai if it was discussed with them.

Its been quite sometime since the Verna has come, does any one know the average. The car looks awesome from the front, but take a little beating from the rear. The Seating is good, what all Hyundai cars provide.

The performance of the car is good, may be because its new. The engine is responsive but my question is for how long. I had an accent, the response was ultimate for 2 years... but then slowly it starting losing the resonse and redlining was out of the question.

So is it worth buying the Verna?

ya.. me too have the same question.....

im pretty sceptical about the long term performance of the engine... the initial enthusiasm in the engine hope wouldnt fade away with time....

only time should tell. Any hyundai owners.. comment please...

its too early for anyone to comment on the performance of the longetivity basis as verna is relatively new. There is a tbhpian ( Drifter) who has Accent CRDI has really seemed to have used its maximum potential, i think he has done 90k+ kms in 3 years and he seems to be pretty much happy about the car even now. Drifter, please confirm !!!

Verna being equipped with even more latest technology with some good care should remain responsive even after substantial amount of kms on the odo.

I am not a long term owner but i had the same doubts but i took an extended warranty and definitely do not intend to keep the vehicle for longer than three years . But i know lots of people who have been driving diesel Hyundai's around for more than four or five years without a hitch ! Right now i own a Hyundai Verna CRDi , but i brought it last December'06

sure.... will go for it as i wont be driving more than 50k in five years time... so i think it shouldnt be a problem for me... thanks for your comments....
would have loved more if Verna SX came loaded with airbags like SX4!!

hellstar.. the alloys in the pic looks great... can u kindly post a bigger picture and the type and company of alloys u have installed...

If you can wait then you can get the SX4 ZDi and VDi with a 1.3L JTD 90bhp, but never know when, owing to the short supply of Swift diesels.
