(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-drives-initial-ownership-reports/17220-hyundai-verna-review-30.html)
guys im only getting abt 16-17 km mileage .dont know why.i am really cautious while driving tooo.but i love her.
Ram, is that a city mileage or highway?
If city, then you should be really happy about it and even if its highway, iam assuming yours is quite new. Give it some time, it will certainly improve
does the verna have hydraulic power steering and not electronic...

Hey Jeetu...
Hellstar too getting highway average of 24 km/l and that too with A/C turned ON!!
I am using TurboJet. Getting FE of 13 to 14 kmpl in Bangalore traffic with AC on. This verna ran about 1000km so far.
Rgds,
Aravind.
jeetu4444, Your car looks really cool. I just got a VGT Passion red myself. I was wondering if the milege drops if you put 195 tyres....... By the way which Rims/tyres do you have and what is the speed rating.

ya i think thats amazing FE for a car that powerful....... well it will improve hopefully.....
ok guys , even i was surprised at the 24kmpl FE myself ! agree: but that was a really long drive and in peak hours , so i'd expect the figures to improve once i cross the 5k mark on my odometer, but still keeping my fingers crossed...
I gotto compute her in city FE and that turns out to be around hovering between 17-19 kmpl once even got 20kmpl !
Some feedback on the vehicle itself , braking from speeds over 100 kmph is kindda tricky and should practise extreme caution unless you have ABS installed on the car, lesson learnt from jumping over a nasty unmarked hump in on the blore - hyd highway :Frustrati , i guess the fog made it even worse. Just 25 kms beyond hebbal flyover , whilst on an insanely early morning trip to Nandi hill, had a pretty nasty jump at about 80 kmph ! I could only slow down to that without skidding from about 140 kmph ..
Somethin a bit off topic on this thread but , cudn't resisit, here is one of the pictures that i managed to capture during that trip to Nandi Hills!

The fog lamps are pretty much ornamental , and lacks the punch that can be expected out of them, i dunno if that a problem with the way they are foccused on my car , but by the instensity of the light in comparison to the 100W/130W headlamps i have , they do not show up much on the roads. or its way too close for comfort. Any pointers in this would be really appreciated .. i wanna effectively make the fog lamps on the verna more powerful.
But other than these things , the car is very satisfactory and there is no other nagging issue as far as the car is concerned.
Once in Bangalore , i tried to shift over to shell diesel , but they do not retail premium diesel , and since i had been running my car on premium diesel till now i did not want to shift over , from the advice of the .A.S.S. engineers - not to mix both types in the single tank as that would cause problems with the firing in the CRDi engine. That was kindda disappointing .. was really looking forward to running my car on fuel from shell .... coz i love the way they treat customers. So still running my car on HiSpeed Diesel From BP
And hey the Passion red VGT from Jeetu4444 looks amazing ! and if there is one thing i wud have like to be changed about the Verna, its the front part withthe grill design ...it looks very " Baleno-ish !".
Damn! What a Pic! I am going to Nandi hills this weekend for sure!
O.T. have they repaired the strech from where you turn off left from teh higway to Nandi hills? last time I went that strech was REALLy horrible.
Yep i guess so , or i guess the Verna's Suspension soaked up most of the bad road, i wudnt call these roads really bad but they are driveable !
And Yeah start early ( around 0530 Hrs ) and have a great time ....

I may be wrong in this, but the 'Fog Lamps' fitted on all cars as OE are not lamps meant to enable the driver to see better in Fog, but are meant to make your car visible to other drivers in Fog without blinding them (with headlamps).
These are developed for European (or similar) conditions where driving with your headlamp on in thick fog tends to disperse the light and cause (1) you to see a white wall ahead instead of a road and (2) confuse other drivers as to where exactly your car is. Therefore you have low-mounted 'fog lamps' that actually light up just the small area in front of your car without affecting your vision or that of others.
They are not meant to be a replacement for the blinding spot lights sold by Autopal as 'fog lamps' and serve only to blind others or the regular yellow fog lamps that actually enable you to see.
agree: with Steer. They are DRIVING lights.

I had exactly the same thoughts when I saw the first snap of Verna in the paper during its launch and had mentioned it on the forum also.
